Just built a new Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2 system with a FX
-6300 and am playing with tuning. It seems like the Asus defaults NB to 2000, HT 2600 at 1333 mem, then both to 2000 at 1600 mem, although when I manually adjust to accommodate 1886 mem both NB and HT to 2200.

Its been awhile, but I though stock HT for a fx-6300 was 2600? Aside from overclocking (which I am not yet ready) should I be manually running the NB and HT speed up at 2600 for stock settings?

Thanks

Power went off for about 15 sec while running computer. Power on...computer fails to boot up. NO post messages. Only monitor message "NO DVI connection". All fans running. Gigabyte board lights on. Correct voltage to the cpu power connector ATX_12V_2X4. checked with a meter. Replaced the video card with a new one and still no Post messages.

system has 8 gigs of memory. a 700watt ps. 4core Intel processor. 2 Sata 3 HDD. Windows 7 Pro. Running video in the PCIEX16_1 slot. Original card has a power connection on the top. The replacement did not. Nothing coming out of either it seems.

Any suggestions on why I do not even get a POST notice on the screen?

thanks

I've just purchased a 3770k and a Asrock z77 extreme6 for a new computer build. I'm figuring I'm going to need to update the Bios on the board at some point as I'm not quite sure what Bios comes with the board. Anyway, my question is. Should I flash the Bios before installing Win 8 on my SSD or do so after Windows is installed? just curious which would be a better choice.
