Too bad asus (solved 1017 bios issue)

(a7v333+asus v8440 ti4400)

(my pc freeze after 2->20min. of use).

Hi all, after 2 days trying to find out why i could not even watch a divx (unplug all pci devices, reinstall win2k from 0 etc...etc...)

i finally discovered that the problem lies in the fu**ing sh*t 1017 bios ! and even 1018 !

maybe this is a known issue, but (SH*t) dear asus, you can not give away a bios that causes conflict with a card that you sell without even give a warning.

maybe our dear asus must sell out some new mobos ?

sorry for the language, but i'm very,VERY disappointed

Welcome Kokoko3k

the 1017 and 1018 bios versions both have Issues, this board runs best with the 1016 bios. I would reccomend only using the 1016 bios for this board.

sure

This kind of information should be given BEFORE downloading the bios or maybe a nice "beta or alpha" should be putted after the filename.
BTW Asus users are not supported very well.

I don't think anyone will argue with you on that Kokoko3k. There is a long history there.

What kind of configuration do you have ?
I have no problem with bios 1017.
I run my board in turbo mode- all ram options to max, except command rate.

Are you all sure, that bios 1017 is a huge problem. I don't see many posts about it.

my config

is this:

asus a7v333
512mb elixir memory
450W qteq PSU
"asus" ti 4400 (v8440)
promise raid: stripe maxtor diamondmax plus (40+40gb)
tigerjet pci isdn modem.

with 1017 or 1018b my videocard (from asus !) freeze the system.

the bad is that an asus mobo with an asus videocard with an up to date asus bios... simply does not work.

This indeed is strange.
You forgot to mention what cpu you have.
I will probably upgrade soon to better cpu and will report if any bios problems will occur then.

Luke:rolleyes:
