Eheim 1250 or 1048 for TDX ?
Im planning to upgrade my water cooling system, actually building a complete new one to be exact.. Im curious to know which pump between the 1250 and 1048 would be the best to fit with the new TDX block. Im worried about the noise also.. is there some specs about how much db those two pump are doing? Thx

Definately the 1250 for a restrictive block like the TDX. How many other blocks do you plan to run? Ever thought of the MCP600? These things are dead silent.

I would still go for a Danner Mag3 ($40 USD) over the Ehiems. DrCR ______________ |

Eheims are good quality pumps, but they aren't high-pressure pumps. You would probably get better performance out of a Danner or the Swiftech MCP600. The TDX requires lots of pressure to get the 'jetting' effect to work best. The Eheim will work, but others will work better.

I see.. What about the noise of Danner Mag3 ? I have an aquarius II setup atm, even if it is not a very good water cooling kit, it is very silent. I dont really want to invest 200$ or more in something better but that I wont like. Anyway, thx for all your advices :)

The Eheim is a good performer, but the Mag3 the MCP600 would perform better with a restrictive block like the TDX. The Eheim and the MCP600 are really quite, but the Mag3 is somewhat noisy.

Maybe it was with older version, but wasnt there any reliability issue with the mcp600 ?

Re: Eheim 1250 or 1048 for TDX ?
It was an older version. I haven't heard about issues with the latest revision. It's a pretty safe bet now.

If you're only going to be running a TDX then I'd suggest you get the Mag3. The MCP600 will only shine when there's a lot of restriction such as my set up.

Maybe, but 40db is not what we could call very silent..
