Motherboard / p4 533 and 800mhz fsb

I'm new to all of this, but its a good learning experience.

I have a p4 2.8 with an 800 fsb. But, my MB only supports 533. Will the processor just step down, or are they totally incompatible?

Thanks for the awesome help so far...this computer i'm building will someday work!

what is the mobo?..should work with a bios upg at max

I'm getting the case and motherboard now that I can afford...by the end of the year I'm going to get something a little better.
