Damn- Blew one of the speakers on my 5.1
I have a sound card that is optically connected to 5.1 receiver that feeds a Polk 5.1 speaker set. I blew one of the speakers so now I have 4.1 sound. They sounded pretty good but am thinking I will slowly change out the speakers to something better.
Re: Damn- Blew one of the speakers on my 5.1
I had set of old 5.1 speakers and was something like that. Actually problem was worse because rear speakers wouldn't work or front speakers at the same time so I junked them and replaced them with better newer ones.

which polk speakers? I have the CS1, monitor 40's (front) and 30's (rear). they sound excellent for the price and if you're coming from a set like the RM75's you'll notice a big improvement

I am not even sure -I got them on ebay for a decent price -they are small 8" high by 6" wide but the sub woofer is huge- I had blown way too much on my home theater so kinda skimped for the pc sound but wanted pretty good quality
Re: Damn- Blew one of the speakers on my 5.1
I've already spent way too much on sound stuff although I don't care about the monies almost all of the time, most of the time I think about sound quality, performance and reliability. Not planning to upgrade for quite some time. Seems you're looking for new speakers mate. Got some in mind?
