  1. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

    I'm back yet again!

Last time I was folding using an old, 32-bit computer. After several months it appears the server ran out of WU's that 32-bit computers could handle, so I stopped getting new...
  2. Re: Some Servers down Today, Mon Aug 26 for Maintainance

Thanks for the info. Sounds like those WU's aren't totally dead, just in a slow spot for now. I'll keep trying for a while and see what happens.

I resurrected an old computer mostly just to do...
  3. Re: Some Servers down Today, Mon Aug 26 for Maintainance

I'm using FAH6, with the 78 core on a Linux machine.
  4. Re: Some Servers down Today, Mon Aug 26 for Maintainance

I'm still getting the error message. Here's the message it's giving me:

And then it just keeps repeating it every 10 seconds or so. Is that the wrong server?
  5. Re: Some Servers down Today, Mon Aug 26 for Maintainance

When I run my FAH I've been getting "cannot get new asignment" errors for the past two weekends (including again just a few minutes ago). Are they still working on this, or do I need to change some...

    Yup, that's me.

I finished my first new work unit this morning - 10 years to the date after I finished my last one!
  7. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

Same as my user name here.
  8. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

Hmm, don't know, will have to check it next time I run the program.
  9. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

You'll have to refresh my memory on what PPD means.

BTW, yesterday I checked my machine's specs, and it's really not all that bad. When I got it (circa 2004), it was a state-of-the-art custom...
  10. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

Hey guess what? I just checked my "MyFolding" web page and it says the last work unit I completed was on 2003-06-15.

    Almost exactly 10 years!
  11. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

After multiple attempts to get the old 5.04 version to respond to the commands, I gave up and installed v. 6.02 instead. This one worked much easier and I've finally got it running.
  12. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

This worked (except I typed in "chmod +x FAH504-Linux.exe")

Hmm, I just tried this and got a "Permission denied" error message. :-/
  13. Re: Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

    It's SuSE Linux 9.1. As I said, circa 2006. (32-bit Pentium)

I've already got a folder made and the executable is in there. Just don't know how to configure and run it.

There was a link to a...
  14. Want to fold again after 11 year absence :-)

    Hi everyone!

Almost 11 years ago I did some folding on a Linux machine using the console application.

I've got an old computer (circa 2003) that I recently spruced up and installed a circa 2006...

Oops, I just found out the answer to my question in the post BuiesCreek made on the other forum - team #734. Time to change my FAH settings.

    Aw shucks, thanks everyone! :D

OK, first question: What is the team # for this team, so I can change it on my FAH settings?

    Thanks once again.
