    Re: overclocking i920

You really shouldn't need to adjust voltage at all to achieve this. Simply raise the bclk. If you find that it's not stable only then slowly raise voltages until you get stability. Very simple mobo...
  2. Re: My Lynnfield i7 box can't pass Prime95 stress test

Not all that strange maybe. Seems to me it could pass memtest and still error out on prime. Probably just needed a subtle timing adjustment or small vdimm bump.

Re: Can I overclock my CPU?

Overclocking a laptop is generally not advisable. I find it much more rewarding to undervolt them instead. If I run with minimum volts needed to maintain stability at stock speed, I not only run...

I have 6 crunchers running wcg 24/7... 4 i7 rigs and 2 intel quads. They all run 100% load with the i7s at 4200mhz and the x3360 quads at 3.9ghz :D

I could show you times from those but why bother...

    Sub-zero on a budget...

It doesn't have to break the bank to have fun with sub-zero goodness. Here are some shots of a dry ice pot I made recently in my basement using just basic tools, angle grinder, drill, router.

    Some...

That's a good air time, especially for summer benching. Finally, after a year, I've taken delivery of my little cascade. :D

You should be able to get that ram a lot higher or maybe tighten up a little. I'm ordering a D0 step to play with and upgrade the farm this week so maybe I'll have some new ammo soon.
  17. Re: Dual 24" Monitors - Need Video Card Advice ASAP Please!

I've been using that same monitor for around a year and a half and it's quite good. The 4850 will work ok with two at high res except in perhaps the most demanding situations.
