Re: AMDMB Members' Recently Purchased Items Thread

Bought the Fractal Design XL R2 because my kids keep breaking my optical drive and it had a door on the front with a magnetic "lock". We'll see if it's just enough to keep them from opening the door....

    Re: Recent Purchases

Kids just destroyed another optical drive...and I was very displeased.
So, I went online searching for a case with a door. The locking doors are far and few between, so I'm trying one with a door...

Re: AMDMB Members' Recently Purchased Items Thread

Not tech related, but I did order a new garbage disposal off Amazon. I need to get this done. I also need to buy a battery for my Explorer, but 1 project at a time or I won't get anything done.

Re: New members - Let's talk gaming

I never played any COD game until Ghosts. The campaign was fun (stupid fun), and the MP was fine, but the maps seemed a bit large for an 8 player max.

    That sucks!
However, I'm not clear on where the breakdown started. Was it Take Two or Levine?

    Re: Toaster sigs

Even though my NF4-D died some time ago, I haven't tossed it. I'd like to mount it on the wall, but I don't think the missus is going to let that fly. That and cats and kids might knock that down.

Maxing out the CPU by upgrading to a brand-new used Core X6800 off an Amazon seller. Bills are paid, but given I have other financial goals for the future, a full-scale rig update ain't in the works....

It's just an amazing game! I haven't really played survival-horror games before, but this was always intriguing. I got it as part of a Humble Bundle and have enjoyed it.

Rounded out the Dead Space series with Dead Space 2 for PS3 for under $10 new. Haven't seen it cheaper.

    Re: Official Steam sale thread

I'm backed up, but I saw that Left 4 Dead 2 was available for free. Why not? I'm way behind in gaming anyway. I have free time, but it's significantly less since being a family man. :D I'm just...

    Re: Recent Purchases

Major upgrade that I planned probably won't happen anytime soon, soooo I sprung to move from 2GB to a Wintec AMPX 4GB kit. Should smooth a few things out. I also might see if I can snag an X6800 Core...

Sticky: Poll: Re: What Mainboard do you have?

I'll probably be sticking with my Asus P5B Premium. However, I think I'll look to add some more RAM and see how low an X6800 might drop on eBay. I was planning a full system upgrade, but I don't see...

Re: Will you ever stop playing games?

    Agreed.

I do see myself down the line still playing, even when I have grandkids. "No, Timmy, I played Gears of War."
The frequency with having a family, work, etc. is in question.

    Re: Recent Purchases

My ol' Pioneer DVDRW drive won't stay shut after hitting the button to retract it, so I have an LG DVDRW drive on order. I think I paid at least $60 for the Pioneer and less than $20 shipped for the...

    Re: [Console] I just bought a PS3!

Yeah, that's what I've picked up on with the PS4 launch.
Comparing PSN to Xbox Live, Sony crashes and burns. I still like my PS3, but if something is online, Xbox all the way. I hit the midnight...

Oh, you too? In the past several months I've acquired a ton of games...and since I have kids, that means I will probably finish my current group up when my youngest graduates high school.

    Re: The Humble Bundle

Some games in the Red Faction franchise are good while others are garbage. I know RF2 was lambasted, but I never played it. Guerrilla is fun as is the original.

Anyway, there's a new set available...

    Re: The Humble Bundle

I started playing it. I picked up Red Faction: Guerrilla before on the PS3 and that's a blast. Armageddon, from the little I've played is prettier (also, I have it on PC, FWIW) and it's not...

I got Halo Anniversary Edition. Might as well start at the beginning since Microsoft should be giving away Halo 3 sooner than later for all Live members.

    Re: The Humble Bundle

With that last EA Humble Bundle, I found it necessary to upgrade from a 320GB main drive to a 1TB unit.
That's just the PC. I'm burying myself in console land as well. :D
