    Re: Optimizing Tricks

I would say doing a good Disk Defragment, clean his main drive, and do malware, spyware, and virus sweeps. That is all that will REALLY make a performance boost.

    Re: Need A Lil Help

Well, the last thing we need on a COMPUTER HELP SITE is someone who CAN'T TYPE ON A COMPUTER!

Re: Compatibility question ( how do I know)

He is not making a joke. Your mobos is a standered ATX mobos, which in turn needs to fit a standered ATX case. (almost every case is ATX standered unless specified otherwise)

    The 9800 is a...

Re: 40 gig hard drive reads 10 gigs only

I would try and check through your bios, then try partitioning, and see if you can't make a full partition. (The whole 40G)

Re: Are Celerons / Semprons really that bad?

Texun was right, there is more to performance that just the CPU. I have AT LEAST 768M of RAM in the Celeron computers, and they seem to run great for me.

Re: Are Celerons / Semprons really that bad?

Exactly what I stated. You have a "grudge" against them. I have a couple computers with P4 core Celerons, and they have all run fine for everyday handling.

One is at 2.4Ghz, one at 2.6Ghz, and...

Re: XP + new hardware question

I have heard tales from the both. I would recommend reinstalling XP, although there may not be a "need" for it. XP will begin to find errors if you do not reinstall it with new hardware.

    Good...

    Re: Need A Lil Help

Ok, Lowrider, we are not 12, and this is not AOL. Please, if you are going to ask questions, do it in a mature manner, not in some "slang" text.

Re: Are Celerons / Semprons really that bad?

Here is where we differ. I do not agree that "Celerons are junk". They are actually quite a decent processor. The L2 cache is low, yes, but the FSB on the P4 core Celerons are, for the most part...

    Re: What is too hot?

Ok, thanks guys. I have a half-inch copper heatsink on my GPU, so it runs around 48C idle.

I had it up in the 60's and was worried if that was too hot.

    What is too hot?

I have a Leadtek A400 Nvidia 6800. I love this card, and it runs well, I was just wondering about OC'ing. I am not used to this card yet, so I do not know what is "too hot" for it's core. It has a...

  24. Re: BF2 freezing up & MBM 5 showing 3.3v of 3.14v, and 12v as 12.32v

I wouldn't as much recommend removing the sound card, as turning off EAX support and VOIP. If you really want to "remove" it, just uninstall it from your device manager.

    And as for the RAM,...
  25. Re: BF2 freezing up & MBM 5 showing 3.3v of 3.14v, and 12v as 12.32v

One of the main causes for freezing is not having all your drivers up to date. I know I mention drivers in a lot of "game issues", but it is a quick fix sometimes. If it is not a driver problem,...
