Re: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 Wolfdale 3.33GHz

I have this (E8600 and RF) combo and it works great. I flashed to the latest bios before installing the E8600. Overclocks better than anything I have ever used. 500 fsb is easy with this cpu.

Re: Anyone with a Tsunami case?.....

I've heard this complaint about the front door before. There are three metal latches made out of spring steel that clip the door closed. You can bend them with you fingers to close as tightly as you...

    Re: *Official* Venice Pricing Guide

For international buyers most stores will charge a silly surcharge just because they know they can get it. The UPS and Fedex international rates are available on their web sites. There is no "export...

    Re: 3400+ 754 NC question

That is very cheap and a good choice. Some of the generic ram available is also single sided. I found mine while I was able to shop and see it in person. Ordering online means you have to know...

    Re: 3400+ 754 NC question

He's right of course, I've tried with a similar setup. More than one double sided module is asking for problems. There are enough single sided 512meg modules on the market so that you don't have to...

Re: Anyone with a Tsunami case?.....

One tip. Fill up your removable drive cages before mounting the motherboard. I made the mistake of thinking that since they were removable I could do the reverse. Bad thinking. I had to remove the...

Re: Anyone with a Tsunami case?.....

I have this case. I got it two months ago for a new build and I am very happy with it. The case is made by Thermaltake not Thermalright as the last post suggested. I shopped this hard before I bought...

Re: Am I going insane? (DDR RAM prices!)

I am American living in Asia. I can tell you that prices in Asia are always full U.S. retail plus more for all computer items. No discounting to speak of and even older items sell for their original...

    Re: Mushkin or G.Skill? Help?

According to that screen shot your memoey is set to 1T in bios. It better be or that nice ram is going to be operating way too slow. You can use Cpuz to verify your 1T setting, but if it is set that...

    Re: heatsink/fan for s754 clawhammer

I went through that and thought about taking everything apart. Finally bit the bullet and did it and I'm really happy with the results. Taking out the motherboard was not such a big deal. Removing...

    Re: psu making noises

The transformer coils have a coating imbeded. It is supposed to prevent the buzzing. The coating is sometimes cracked or just not properly applied. Either way this is replacement time if it bothers...

Re: case advice, which one, alu or 0.8mm steel?

I know I'm coming in late on this, but I was actually thinking about getting one of those Superflower cases for a second build. What exactly is the problem with the case? I don't mind the plexi side...

Re: Am I going insane? (DDR RAM prices!)

Ram prices in the States have definitely taken a downturn lately. Be careful as they are not all a great buy. AMD64 loves low latency and you will find that much of the bargain DDR is cas 3. Still...
  16. Re: To all the owners of the A64 3700+ (please post your overclock results)

More than likely the plastic package is the same one they used for all their last generation chips. That would suggest to me that those are old stock. The box is the current package. I would go for...

Re: Recommend me a 939 board

DFI socket 754 would be a very good start. Cheap and loaded with overclocking options. Seems to be the budget choice yet great performance.

J-Bo, maybe I missunderstood your post, but that chart clearly shows the Clawhammer 3400 beats the Winchester 3500.
  21. Re: To all the owners of the A64 3700+ (please post your overclock results)

OK boys play nice. Start with this thread and read through the benches http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20041221/cpu_charts-15.html#directx_9 It clearly shows that the Clawhammers with their cache...

Re: Is the max for my 3500+ Newcastle 2.4ghz?

  23. Re: To all the owners of the A64 3700+ (please post your overclock results)

    Re: a64 939 3200+ vs. 3500+

The 3500 Clawhammer with 512 L2 cache was just introduced in January of this year. I think that exempts it from being called "old". It is in reality very new. It was listed in AMD's roadmap for the...
