Thanks for your comments. I have done some accurate start time tests and it only takes 10sec longer to load up with the IDE hard drive connected. 2m 45s without IDE and 2m 55s with.

I seem to have sorted the D-LINK problem, not sure how. I only input the same setting.

D-LINK setting up procedure is poor compared to LINKSYS.
