Since Asus doesn't have any Z75 motherboards I am looking at Asus P8Z77-M as a cheap Z solution for my computing needs. Can anybody share some experience with this motherboard, stability and...
I'm still not clear what is the default setting for the CPU Voltage Reference and which setting out of Auto, 0.63x, 0.61x, 0.59x, and 0.57x to use in order to get a slightly higher FSB.
New info, got this form Anandtech review posted this very day ;)
Only in the new Asus P38 boards bios they call it: CPU GTL Voltage Reference
CPU/NB GTL Voltage Reference: CPU: Auto, 0.63x,...
Ok, only one clue in there:
"The CPU Reference Voltage configures the CPU Vtt voltage via preset ratios"
Searching further:
Cpu Vtt is the fsb termination voltage and is also known as vfsb on...
CPU Voltage Reference... can somebody explain this bios setting, please?
Hello ppl.
(haven't posted for quite a while :) )
I plan to do a as inexpencive as possible PC, based on the new Intel Pentium E2160 cpu (it's Core 2 Duo CPU with just 1Mb L2 cache) and I'm...
Thanx, I was reffering about reviews on the net about not reaching higher HTT bus speeds when using SATA drive with nForce3 (and I think nForce4, too) motherboards...
Hello,
I have a chance to upgrade my HDD and until now I have restrained myself from using SATA HDD-s on nForce3 and 4 Athlon64 platforms due to rumors about limiting the overall overclocking...
Thanx, it's nice to know beforehand... ;-)
what heatsink did you use?
Can you disable chipset cooler rpm warning in BIOS...
... and only use a bigger passive cooler?
Change of plans, folks. I'll be going with Asus A8N-SLI nForce4 motherboard instead. :)
Good thing is that KVR400X64C3AK2/1G is listed as compatible with it (I've already ordered it)
Nice. What motherboard are you using?
Thanx, it seems it's compatible but I'll contact them anyways... :-)
Thanx
seems that Kingston ValueRAM is the way to go, but Asus Qualified Vendors List states:
KVR400X64C3A/512 works at B -dual channel configuration
and the model I found at Newegg is:
Model #:...
Hello,
please suggest good value RAM to use with my new ASUS A8V-E Deluxe mainboard (VIA K8T890 chipset)
I was looking at something like this:...
I have problems with an Asus A7V600-X (VIA KT600) and Connect3D Radeon 9600 128MB. 3DMark2003 crushes after several hours of looping 3DMark2001 even faster... Rest of the configuration is Sempron...
Smith2004 this is exactly what I've been experiencing with Asus VIA KT266 motherboard few years ago. Tried changing every other component including the CPU, nothing helped. Ended up returning it.
Thanx.
They say the board will be shipped to me through an ASUS european office.
With all these happening at the time when I am planing an upgrade to Athlon 64 platform... =Me very happy :) ;) :D
You won't belive what was inside the mail I have received recently:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations! Thank you for joining the ASUS...
The bios support might be a problem, too.
Here's a statement from Soltek rep (I'm sure he wouldn't mind posting this):

Does AMD Athlon 64 for DTR Notebooks work with Soltek 754 motherboards?
(e.g. SL-K8AN2E-GR/SL-K8AN2-GR)
Maybe these chips should overclock better than regular Athlons 64. Even though they're...
Ask Soltek when will they make an NFforce4 motherboard...
If possible a socket 754 one... :p
I had quite a few ECS mobos, some of them very good and stable and some of them very very bad...
For a $5 difference, I think I'll wait for SL-K8AN2E-GR to restock...
First mail:
Thank you for contacting Soltek.
The differences between the SL-K8AN2E-GR and SL-K8AN2-GR is the K8AN2E-GR comes with the Promise controller.
Thanks and regards,
Second one:...
