Re: Suggestions for next months project.

now that I'm back in the mix.... Seti is the project that pretty much started the DC era..... nice little flashback, though I'm a fan of medical projects, I'd be up to doing SETI for the POTM.

    Re: I'm back!

I believe the BOINC client was running Seti Units at the time. I haven't been home to look for any error codes or other reasons for the crash though. Could be just a fluke.

Re: Work comp doesn't like R@H and S@H

Well I did change the leave apps in memory setting and it had no effect. It is definitely the Real-Time virus scan. Unfortunately, the settings are locked so I can't disable it. So the work comp...

Re: Work comp doesn't like R@H and S@H

For the moment I did just leave it on Predictor. I'm out of the office tomorrow, so i can't mess around with it again until Thursday.

I think I may have figured out what it may be. I set the...

Re: Work comp doesn't like R@H and S@H

It appears to the the Symantec Real-Time File System Virus Scanning. It's almost always bouncing up to 95%+.

Why does Predictor run normal then? Does that just use a tiny amount of CPU...

Re: Work comp doesn't like R@H and S@H

Here are the specs. The problem is, the CPU processing time per workunit is about 3 hours, however, the unit processes so slowly, it takes abotu 1.5 -2 days per workunit in real time.

    Work comp doesn't like R@H and S@H

I've relegated my work computer to solely focus on Predictor as it was terrible at processing Seti and Rosetta. It would not process either program faster than a few days per unit, while predictor...

    Re: Hung up in Rosatta

So what's the deal with Rosetta units that get a Status of 'Computation Error'? It's at 100% but just sites on the Work list, while everything else runs fine. Should I just 'abort' that work unit?

    Re: Hung up in Rosatta

Haven't had any of those yet. :shifty: Hopefully won't get them. I did have one that error out on me and had to abort it. Otherwise, everything else working fine.
