Does anyone have any clue how a 1.6 GHz pM would compare against desktop processors? I am going to be getting a laptop within the next day, but am trying to decide if it is worth it to...

Re: To File Serve or Not to Serve

I would imagine that it will be faster to keep them attached via ATA, like they are now. To be honest, wonce you start using file servers as storage, it can complicate things. First, if a system...

    Photo Printer

    Hey guys,

It has been a while, wow. I am actually here to ask a question about printers, since I have fallen behind in the technology. My girlfriend has a nice 3-in-1 HP printer, but wants the...

My parents us eTrust Firewall...I was not terribly impressed, but I did not play around with it much since they are on dialup. My advice, for a total freeware solution use AVG (as you already are)...

Look for FPort and check it out. It is freeware and looks pretty sweet. I've never used it myself though.
  10. Re: I need a software that can monitor or tell which program is transfering data

If you wnat a quick way to tell some apps, try typing "netstat -a" in te command prompt. I find it useful, but to the average user it can be somewhat cryptic.

    Re: TROJ_ADERS.A help!

My friend, you need Stinger. It is a freeware standalone app produced by Network Associates (McAfee) that will kill a lot of Trojans and such. Give it a try, I've had a lot of luck with it before.

Re: IP connection but no internet access

    Try 2 things:

    ping www.google.com
    ping 216.239.39.99

If there is a problem with the first one and not the second, then it is a DNS issue. I also had a similar issue where you could not ping a...

You could try uninstalling TCP/IP in the laptop, rebooting, and then reinstalling it. It could just be a problem with the TCP/IP stack, which this could correct. The only other thing I...

    All I do is:

    cp /www/apache2/apachectl /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd

Then I add symlinks to the necessary rc directories (rc3 and rc5).
*note, your instance of Apache2 is probably not under /www/.
