    Re: Boot Issues...Need Help

As mentioned by the other poster, just run Memtest86 to figure out what is stable and what is not. Better method than just running games etc. To quickly figure it out run test 5 continuously as this...

Re: Windows x64 and HTT fluctuation?

That is what I was wondering, but why does this not happen in Windows 2000 then?

    Btw my computer:

    Windows x64 and HTT fluctuation?

    Alright, I have a question.

I installed Windows x64 and I actually do like it a lot. However, I noticed that my otherwise stable overclock in Windows 2000 actually wasn't stable in x64. CS:S...

Re: VNF3-250: Anyone using all 3 DIMM slots?

In that anandtech article they do not explicitely mention whether they run the ram insync or not. I am pretty sure that no matter what you do, the ram speed defaults to 166 when running 3 sticks. If...

    Re: VNF3-250 Overvolts like ......

Interesting point. When I was trying to figure why my cpu temperatures were so high I put a probe as near to the cpu as I could. When I also tried to feel the temperatures just using my hand I...

    Re: VNF3-250 Overvolts like ......

Besides overvolting, it seems to increase when the load increases. I believe that is common with this board. When I set it to 1.65, it starts out at 1.68, but at full load it runs at 1.71. At least,...

Re: VNF3-250: Anyone using all 3 DIMM slots?

I have mixed brands of double sided memory and indeed it does not like one of them to be in slot 2 or 3. The other brand (Buffalo CH-5) works fine in them.

Also, as Kanenas mentioned, no matter...

    Re: Latest Linux adventure!

Just one thing, which has happened to me twice (on an Athlon XP and 64), is that I needed to manually set the LBA mode for the harddisk in the BIOS to get it to boot.

    The first time this happened...

    Re: running memtest

    Download the zipped ISO :http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.1a.iso.zip
Unzip it, start Nero. Close the wizard if it starts up and from the file menu pick something like 'write from image file' and...
  10. Re: I really want the VNF3-250, but I'm not too sure...

The X-Connect sure is a nice psu (sofar). 34A on the 12 V rail, plus it is modular. This really makes it nice and easy to install everything, plus it keeps it nice and tidy. Compared to the Antec...
  11. Re: Fluctuating voltages? (and more questions)

Ah, makes sense. I actually was kinda wondering how I would go about and measure the true voltages :/

The thing I am mainly interested in, is the largest deviation from the 12 V. As I mentioned,...
  12. Re: Fluctuating voltages? (and more questions)

    Thanks GlasMan,

The speedfan variation on mine is indeed lower. It actually seems to be inline with what I saw on my Athlon XP (11.95-12.2 on the +12 line). I wasn't sure if this was due to less...
  13. Fluctuating voltages? (and more questions)

    Hi all,

I just found these forums yesterday and have searched and read through a bunch of them. However I still have a question which I couldn't find an answer to (perhaps it is my lack of finding...
  14. Re: Soltek 754 250GB chipset and a 3700+ , HT question

I don't have this board, but yes, the default is 4x. Most likely the bios will set it to this when you start it up the first time. 4x is the default of the 800 Mhz ones (754).

    Still new here too,...
