    Re: Intel 3.2Ghz or AMD XP-M 2600+?

Decided to dump the XP Mobiles, they're on ebay as I type and stick with the P4 3.2Ghz, am going to get an IC7-G mobo in the next few days. Why did I decide to go down the P4 route well the main...

Re: EPOX- 8RDA6+ PRO, poor overclocker

I don't think Abit include any rounded cables with the NF7-S2/S2G.

Re: EPOX- 8RDA6+ PRO, poor overclocker

Well this review has slightly better overclock http://www.legionhardware.com/html/doc.php?id=325 so it could be anything, mobo, CPU, RAM, who knows
  4. Re: ep-8rda6+pro trying to find for sale maby

    Re: summer's breaking my mobo

Take off your heatsink and check your thermal compound, had a similar problem with my system recently turned out that the Artic Silver I'd applied 12+ months ago had possibly dried and had an...

Re: No CAS 2.0 on new 8RDA6+ Pro?

Well I asked the question on the quality of the caps as from the pictures some of them look like the dodgy GSC ones and I was told by someone I think who works for Epox that Epox only uses quality...

Re: No CAS 2.0 on new 8RDA6+ Pro?

Yes, but the memory timings on the page that I linked to clearly show that the CAS timing was set to 2 unless this is an error. OC Workbench did delay completion of the review as they found that the...

Re: No CAS 2.0 on new 8RDA6+ Pro?

That's very strange as the review here:

    http://www.ocworkbench.com/2004/epox/8rda6+pro/b2.htm

seems to indicate that the CAS timing was set to 2.

Re: ASUS P4P800-E Poor Raid Perforamce

Not too sure but the Promise SATA connectors will be near the Promise chip itself.

Re: ASUS P4P800-E Poor Raid Perforamce

I would have said that you'd get better results using the on board ICH5 SATA controller than the Promise, the reason being that the Promise controller is probably just tagged onto the PCI bus...

Re: EPOx 8RDA6+ Pro... need help

I've had assurances on another forum that Epox no longer use el-cheapo caps but now that you mention is they do look remarkably similar to the GSC caps of old. Hopefully the boards will hit the...

Re: EPOx 8RDA6+ Pro... need help

Looks can be deceptive :) the 400Gb has support for native SATA RAID therefore 2 drives in RAID 0 should fly at a rapid raid of knots when compared to the 400 Ultra chipset.

    Re: Problem With Thingy underheatsink

Why don't you try it and see what happens, a lot of the pins on the CPU are duplicated to get reliable ground and + voltage so if it is one of these pins then it shouldn't matter, on the other hand...

  15. Re: raid array fails on startup due to missing sata drive

Sounds like dodgy SATA cables to me, do you have any others to try, lots of peoples problems with missing drives have turned out to be crap SATA cables.

    Intel 3.2Ghz or AMD XP-M 2600+?

Given the choice which would you go for, the Intel 3.2Ghz CPU or an AMD 2600+ XP-M overclocked to around 2.5Ghz. This is the question I am poised with at the moment. I already have 2 2600+ XP-M CPUs...

Re: EPOx 8RDA6+ Pro... need help

More than enough caps and toriods on this picture to sort of confirm what Epox are stating:

Re: EPOx 8RDA6+ Pro... need help

Well from what I understand about the new 400gb chipset it will allow you to RAID across both PATA and SATA drives, so you could in theory have a SATA drive and a PATA drive configured as RAID 0,...

    Re: Any News about NF7-S2G?

rockface That's exactly why I was waiting for a 400gb mobo, native SATA and PATA means better performance and hopefully less CPU utilisation but having read all the stories on the Abit NF7-S2G I...

    Re: 8RDA6+ Pro release date?

I read elsewhere that it's officially classed as a 6 phase, uses technology similar to DDR RAM to spilt each of the 3 phases into 2 thereby ending up with 6.

    I'm sure somebody who understands...

    Re: Any News about NF7-S2G?

I think the Epox officially has a 6 phase power supply, it uses technology similar to DDR RAM to split each phase into 2 and as in its basic form it's a 3 phase supply you end up with 6.

Does your S2G have the Nvidia Hardware Firewall then? There seems to be conflicting info on wether this mobo does or does not have this feature.
