    Re: Windows XP Pro crashing

    Sounds like a driver issue.
Try turning off some components in the BIOS - or removing some extraneous cards.

    Re: Graphics Corruption At Bootup

Looks like a card memory fault.
How does it perform in simming/gaming ?
    Any short, intermittent freezes ?
    Ever been o/c'd ?

Re: what anti virus do you use?

    Can't fault AVG Free.
Picked up a rogue dialler that Norton overlooked.
  7. Re: Static charge causing start-up/frying mobo

Try sticking some rubber across the power switch (I'm assuming it's metallic, which is the problem).

Re: Is dual core really worth it.......

    Dual core sounds nice.
    Heck A64 sounds nice ... :)
But I reckon a lot of folk are like me and have separate rigs for different jobs.
    I have an old TX-5 K6-550 web-serving an Abit NF7 and some...

    Re: NF2 SATA port PCI-lock

    Couldn't see anything in there.
Couldn't find much on the web or usenet, either.
Someone's gotta be running NF2 SATA.

    Re: A little historical perspective

    Get thee behind me, Satan.
Ye shall not tempt me from the path of tightness !
Well not just yet, at least.
But I suspect this may be the year of 64 bits.
That's some pretty sick benching, BB !...

    Re: A little historical perspective

Oh, I forgot to mention that onboard USB also creates idling instability !
So it's BIOS-disabled - and my USB runs off a PCI card.

    Re: A little historical perspective

Well I used the floppy driver.
You could try the floppy driver and then uninstalling rather than just disabling it in Windows.
Another notch up the v-core scale might take care of that 3DMk baulk...

I'd still like to know what specifically, you mean by "support".
    You've fielded nothing technical.
  23. Re: Restart Problems (Minidump results shown)

Perhaps you can explain what you mean by "support".
If it didn't "support" his processor, he obviously wouldn't even be able to boot up.
The only relevant criterion is sufficient v-core, if he's...
  24. Re: Restart Problems (Minidump results shown)

Hang on with the replacement PSU.
Memtest will only give you a basic idea of memory issues - it's an integrity rather than a stress tester.
  25. Re: Restart Problems (Minidump results shown)

    Can you summarise ?
Different PSU = no good, right ?
