    Re: P5Q Pro...

Well, I put together the new rig yesterday. Vista x64 is unstable as all hell on this board. I got numerous lock ups and video loss on numerous occasions, and 3d apps crash within seconds. I tried my...

Re: No signal until Windows boots

Try messing with the OSD menu and set it to 1:1 pixel mapping or full screen scaling. I don't know what those options are called on that particular model, but chances are it's not able to display...

Sounds to me like it's booting off the back up chip. If it's like the old Gigabytes, you have to flash both chips.

  7. Re: In your opinion, what is the BEST thermal grease (paste or T.I.M ) for air cooling?

What ever you do don't use Peanut Butter or Mayonaise, they don't do to well and make your machine stink.

Re: Time for a new 939 mobo....

I might sell my AT8 32x. It pushes my Opty 175 to 300x10 at default voltages, with out breaking a sweat.

Re: so... viewsonic g225fb the third

No, they are toroid coils or chokes that filter out crappy power. If they have to filter bad power over time they get louder.

The buzzing might be another component though, return it.
  12. Re: AVG antivirus Bioshock - Obfustat.jxr false positive

It's because Bioshock uses SecuROM anti-piracy software, which uses malware/ trojan type installation and operation techniques to prevent Bioshock from running on unlicensed computers.

    If you...

    Re: Hurah! for PC Gaming!

Yeah, a really crappy MVA 24" LCD, with the black crush effect. I know because I bought one ($700 Gateway) and returned it the same day. Anything but IPS panels just plain suck, and all LCDs suck for...

    Re: Hurah! for PC Gaming!

Oh, they exist, but like I said at outrageous prices. The only 2 I would consider are the 32" Sharp Aquos gaming edition, and a 30" Apple Cinema Display, both of which still have issues and are over...

    Re: Hurah! for PC Gaming!

I would not agree witht he way it was stated, but CRTs are still far superior to LCDs. I have been trying to find a decent LCD fro 2 years now, and the only thing I can find are super expensive IPS...

There is no link between cathode radiation and hair loss. Blindness and brain cancer may be another story.

Re: Terascale processors: 80 cores enough for you?

That's the problem with an "80 core" CPU, there is no mainstream OS to take advantage of it for consumer purposes. If it used for research with custom applications and such, that's great. But as far...
