    Music Question

Recall back in the 80's, they had the "Hooked on Classics" series of records. I'm looking for similar recordings where they take classical music and add a contemporary flare to it. Any suggestions?...

Re: Dual F@H Smp clients in Windows

I've got a couple Thermalright Ultima-90s on instead of the OEM HSFs. I should be OK in the cooling department.

I don't think I'll be able to overclock them any further though. The maximum fsb...

I'm running XP x64. Looks like 8 cores in Task Manager:

These are 2.66ghz Xeons. It's one of the new Penryns running at 1333 fsb.

Re: Dual F@H Smp clients in Windows

OK, I finally got around and built the following:

    2 x Xeon e5430
    4 x 1gbs ecc/reg ram

I installed 4 separate instances of the SMP client into individual folders, added the...

Re: HD2400 vs. HD2600 Video Cards

I'm probably going with the Radeon 3450 as Enmore suggested. It supposedly does audio over HDMI which is the kicker for me.

No HDTV, just digital cable and vanilla DVDs. The tv runs 1080i though but I won't be be watching any HD anytime soon.

    Re: Case Question

I understand that memory bandwidth is really good on the S5397. To bad FB ram gets hot and is expensive.

In comparison, I can get 4gbs of vanilla ecc/reg DDR2 for about $120 shipped.

Re: Dual F@H Smp clients in Windows

Interesting. I went a head and installed Affinity Changer. It reduced the times from 30 to 23 minutes per frame. So it appears it does help Opterons too.

    Re: Case Question

The S5397 is too much board for me. I'd never need any of the special features although having all those dimm slots would be neat. :D

Re: Dual F@H Smp clients in Windows

Yep, that's what I was thinking too. Doubling the frame times for 2 clients really doesn't yield any advantages (at least none that I can think of) over a single client.
