    The modem should be handling the PPPoE connection for you. All you should have to do is plug in the ethernet cord to the laptop.

    NO IDEA. But (be careful) if its a startup item, disable it in the msconfig start up items. If you find out you need it later, you can always turn it back on :)

    i would assume that its where your getting it from. the host machine may have alot of traffic or a lower speed internet.
