I would start with trying a different router.
i would assume that its where your getting it from. the host machine may have alot of traffic or a lower speed internet.
Reboot your computer and modem if you have not already. I would also check to see if your computers network card is set up to automatically find an ip address.
The firewall should be first, then your modem. Try a Google Image search for "home firewall diagram"
