Running a Radeon HD 3650 which is PCIx 2 with no problems in 939 Dual Sata 2. Yes does appear your mobo is the culprit here, sorry to hear. Previously had a 8800 GTX without any issues and CPU card....

Poll: Re: Going to Vista yes or no?

Codecs can be downloaded so that shouldn't be an obsticle. If someone wants a basic setup and never use the glut then Vista Basic maybe ideal. mr necro indicated he didn't want the extras so this is...
  4. Re: Thinking of finally installing the AM2 CPU board on my 939Dual-SATA2

This has been a really good mobo, will be retiring it soon. That is the board without the cpu card is going into my daughters computer. Going with Intel Quad core and not sure what I am going to do...

Poll: Re: Going to Vista yes or no?

I am curious why some here have not tried Vista Basic, which is a cut down version for the interface without AERO. If you want a clean less complicated version Microsoft has it. I like Vista so far,...
  6. Re: Programs that actually use all 4 cores of a quad core chip... please contribute!

Caligari trueSpace 7.51 when rendering using Lightworkds engine or VRay engine will use all available cores. Many of the other tasks are multithreaded and may use more then one core, not sure if all...

Re: ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 upgrade to AM2

I figure I wait another year to year and a half before upgrading to a quad core, so this upgrade worked out rather well, was able to get to 4gb (rather cheaply) Vista 64 and have a relatively fast...
  8. Re: AMD Slashes prices and drops its single core line

Now they need to usher in some speed bumped 65nm versions! Ramp up the speed and Intel advantages won't be as obvious. Come on, 3ghz on .9 process what can a .65 process do? 3.6ghz? or higher?

Re: ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 upgrade to AM2

I would say that should work well together, 1.8v DDR2 Ram and Windsor core CPU. I am using Vista 64 Home Premium and running very smothly, I just have to basically startup my switcher and cable modem...

Re: ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 upgrade to AM2

I just upgraded from Opteron 165 to Athlon X2 5600+ with 4gb of Muskin ram. Using bios 2.3 it recognized the cpu just fine. It was very easy to do, you need to set the jumpers for cpu slot 1-11, this...

Re: asrock dual sata2 am2 cpu board........
