    I'd start by running a minimal system

    1 stick of RAM, 1 video card. Use BIOS to set/verify CPU and memory frequency is nominal.

    I'm running a KN1 Extreme, A64 at 2.46GHz, 1 Gig Memory.

    I believe mine takes a tad longer to boot because it always looks for SATA drives on the RAID controller...
