    Re: i5 2500k testing

Temps reaching the max I think is possible for this CPU so core temp claimed but I don't believe it as it'd surely have BSOD if any core reached 98C.

    Re: i5 2500k testing

Stable for just 15 minutes at 4800MHz with 1.371v with Prime95. Temps got to 80C and it BSOD.

Backed it off to 4600MHz with slightly less voltage and I'm fairly sure this will be stable.

    Thanks...

    Re: i5 2500k testing

    Thanks for the reply.

Last night I managed to get into Windows at 5154MHz but that was the limit.

I am now setting the voltages manually but it doesn't seem to make any difference to my limit....

    i5 2500k testing

    Hi,

Just testing to see how far my i5 2500k can go.

Have had it super pi 1mb at 5GHz getting 7.6s (only got dual channel DDR3) @ 1600MHz

The voltage crept over 1.55v according to CPU-Z so I...

    Re: Asus P8P67 & i5 2500k

Seem to have this sorted out now.

Googled about the cold boot issue and saw that updating to the latest BIOS might help.

    Re: PSU for 9800 GX2

    Thanks again.

I know my PSU has the normal 6 pin connector for PCI-E but not the new 8pin design. I will need a convertor for sure and will check I get the correct one.

    Cheers,
    Ben

    PSU for 9800 GX2

I will be buying a 9800gx2 off a mate in the near future and am wondering what wattage PSU it will require.

So you were running the P4 3.06 mobile in a desktop PC motherboard? if that's the case that's why it runs at the lower clock down to speedstep detecting the multi @ 12x when you run a p4m in a...
  11. Re: Mobile Intel Pentium 4A, 1600 MHz (3 x 533)

it might have been that program detecting it at 3 x 533 thats not right. The FSB is meant to be 133 and multiplier 23 to give 3060MHz I think, maybe speedstep was simply stepping down the multi to...

    Nice clocks.

Keep spread spectrum enabled if it really helps your stability when oc'd but from what I can find out it is meant to reduce stability when system is oc'd.

My 965P chipset mobo (DS3 gigabyte) doesn't like much above 444FSB with my E6850.
