ROFL... It sure has
Windows 8 normally loads the correct drivers but you might want to go to the Asrock site and check to see if there are any new drivers for your motherboard.
If you are using a router disconnect...
Am not sure what your version of "oldschool" is but I am 70 and really like Windows 8 and my wife is 63 and swears by it.
What is the point of this discussion. For me W8 is faster and less laggy. For all I know it might be 20% faster.
As far as benchmarks go, each computer is different. The only way to make sure is...
I currently have BioShock loaded on W7 and W8.
The W8 machine uses an AMD A-10 CPU and has less transition lag than the W-7 which has an Intel 3770K clocked at 4.2G.
As far as the 10% is...
Like you just said.. experience
Where did you get the information saying this is untrue?
My guess is you have never used windows 8 but are repeating what the naysayers are preaching.
Because you have files you need/want you might be able to install the SSD and then clone your partition with W7 to the SSD.
If it works correctly, delete the old partition.
Will give that a try... Thanks
I tried to load W-8 on top of W-7 and hit a snag.
It told me which programs had to be removed. One was a manual remove of PerfectDisk.
PerfectDisk is not installed on the computer nor is there...
I agree, a touchscreen for my PC might be a bit much.
I have W-8 on 2 of my computers and am loving it. My wife, who absolutely hates change, took to it like a duck to water.
I can't decide what laptop I want to buy yet but it will have W-8 and a...
I just built a mini computer using the FM2 chip.
Loaded it with windows 7 and realized I had an extremely slow and non responsive computer on my hands.
Reformatted the SSD and loaded W-8.
I...
Am not sure what the problem is but I really like W-8.
If you already have W-7 there is not much need to upgrade but if you are running an older system I would go for it.
I have W8 on 2...
The windows 7 disk will automatically align the drive when you install the OS.
Are you talking about 2 drives with 2 different OS's installed?
If it is 2 drives and a single OS with the other drive used as a storage drive then you can just install W7 and it should work OK.
...
If you are talking about a standard disk alignment, Windows 7 will do that for you when you install the OS.
As much as I like W8 I have to agree
I was talking about that statement and others like it.
It does not bother me that someone has tried it and does not like it or choose not to use it but it does bother me when someone rags on any...
If you have not tried it I am not sure what you are complaining about.
Shut down is 2 clicks just like it was with W7 and the start menu, if it is not already up, is only one click away.
I an...
I looked and did not see them but I will look again.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the old Hearts or Solitaire games to work in W-8?
I tried compatibility mode and that did not work.
Already bought it and loving it.
The good news is MS is not the only one coming out with a W8 tablet.
