    Re: Used Xeon Processors

Probably depends on what your use case is. Do you want something that needs a lot of single thread power or something that is threaded and can take advantage of lots of cores?

    Re: Used Xeon Processors

Thanks for the advice! I'm really wishing that AMD would step their game up. I used to buy exclusively AMD chips, but I just can't go that way with what they currently are offering.

    Used Xeon Processors

What thoughts do you guys have on used Xeon processors? I was looking at: http://www.natex.us/Used-Servers-s/1846.htm

For $75, the 2.6 GHz 8 core is looking pretty appealing. Maybe get a dual...

I just got around to looking at the front page. Maybe I will wait for the TI. The bundle with a shield looks cool too.

    Re: Triple Monitor w/ Linux

How do you feel about the MSI N780 lightning? I've been looking at it also. I'm not sure I want to mess around too much with overclocking it yet, but I like the idea that later I could do some OCing.

    Re: Triple Monitor w/ Linux

Sounds like you are confirming what I already suspected. I should be prepared to do the money on a Titan or similar card. I'm cool with spending the $1000 if I need to do so. I was just hopeful that...

    Re: Triple Monitor w/ Linux

I previously was connected to two of them with DVI and then used a separate card to power the third. I haven't really done any surround gaming, but would like to start.

    Triple Monitor w/ Linux

I have a triple monitor setup with 3 Samsung 1080p monitors. I dual boot and run Linux, so I'm not sure that SLI is the best option for me. Because of Linux, I'd also like to stick with Nvidia. I...

They've added offline trading now! I could use some more people to trade with. I've recently collected a few Worms Revolution cards.

I'm an Engineer for a power company. I can tell you that the "Quality" of your power probably has more to do with what your neighbors (and you) are doing than anything else. It is always a good...

    Re: Borderlands 2

I could be wrong, but from the articles I read, I got the feeling that they're going to offer another pass of some sort for the next round of DLCs. I'm wondering if that's why they called the first...

  18. Re: A new Folding Frog, and it looks like hes brought a side dish to the Froggy Picni

My monitors are all 1080p, so I should be fine there. I'm trying to decide if I should go with a SLI setup or the single big card? I kind of like the idea of dual SLI with two 770s maybe? Either...
  19. Re: A new Folding Frog, and it looks like hes brought a side dish to the Froggy Picni

I wish they would start letting the GPUs fold on Linux. I have a few PCI-E slots available in my server since it was an old gaming rig and could put them to work there doing some 24/7 folding.
