  1. Re: Warning! New GPU3 Core + New 762x WUs will eventually damage OCed cards

    I actually went from 625mhz to 800mhz, that's a 175mhz jump and I get nearly 480 level performance on 1.062v. It's stable too.

Pumping my ambient temperature down, I got it to as low as 92C. All...
  2. Warning! New GPU3 Core + New 762x WUs will eventually damage OCed cards

If you OC your GPU to the brink of it's capacity, you may want to know that the new GPU3 core plus it's new WU will have your card hit 2C of TJMax in no time.

That's right, my 800Mhz OC on my GTX...

Re: a mild i7-860 OC that would last?

I'm about to rip my hair out. I just got a memory_management BSOD.

I'm at 1.3V VTT and it's still doing stuff wrong!?!

I give up. I'm returning to stock.

Edit: Found the issue. Other people...

Re: a mild i7-860 OC that would last?

Well... after my home's circuit breaker tripped again for some unknown reason, (while my machine was on) trying to chkdsk the SSD later has just resulted in the Recovery crap returning!!!!

Re: a mild i7-860 OC that would last?

Urgh... After cold booting from heavy load, boot is successful, but a critical exe failed to load during logon.

When I tried to shut down or log off then logon, Windows just throws a RPC error.

Re: looking into buy video capture...

The Intensity drivers come with a piece of capturing software already. It's called Media Express. You don't need Premiere Pro to capture.

In case you're really tight on money, there's an open...

Re: a mild i7-860 OC that would last?

Confidence gone. Just BSODed. Raising VTT back to 1.25v. It was a dxgmms1 BSOD.

Edit: Kinda found out why 1.2v BIOS set VTT didn't work. The VTT droops on my board by 0.3v from it's BIOS setting....

Re: a mild i7-860 OC that would last?

    Nope, I'm at 3.5Ghz with DDR3-1333.

I also turned on a BIOS feature that does extra checks during POST: Dummy OC. It means a longer startup, but it's extra insurance.

    I have not encountered the...

Re: a mild i7-860 OC that would last?

It was never perfect, I couldn't really figure it out... Now it's down to memory timings and voltage. Stock works for Stock, but once I OC, I had to loosen timings to prevent BSODs.

    Reverted VTT...

Re: a mild i7-860 OC that would last?

    Update:

Got the new sticks and a symptom from before still happens on these sticks:

If I manually set any timings, the system will BSOD.

    Therefore, I'm running at DDR3-1333 11-11-11-29 1T...

Re: looking into buy video capture...

Yup, adding the card will work. Just make sure you plug in the power for the card to ensure that extra power required for USB 3.0 goes through.

I will advise though that they recommend you use it...

Re: Evga Gtx 470 Backplate Ideas?!?

1st problem: mATX in a super tight space.

Make sure your modding of your case includes a crapload of fans or a water cooling loop. Lian Li boxes were personally too tight for good airflow for me,...

    Re: Portal 2

Pre-ordered already. I also got my GTX 470 specifically for Portal 2, specifically fearing the framerate on my 275 would be crappy at 1920x1200.

    Re: Windows 7 SP1

I've confirmed that if you hid the update, it won't be installed by SP1.

Post on my blog about it (along with a few snafus I've run across): http://post.ly/1mXgc

And also: If you ran Combofix...

Re: oc on 2600k with high temps

Your voltage seems high. Remember, the more voltage you give a processor, the hotter it gets.

Intel advises you not to go over 1.35v or 1.4v with the Vcore on a 45nm part.

At 11-11-11-29 1T 1.7V, the modules sometimes POST fine all the way through the boot, but sometimes it just goes and does a "BOOTMGR image is corrupt".
