    Re: Need help! Foxconn Motherboard

You didn't damage the CPU did you installing the 'sink did you? I had a board die on me and when I got it back, it still didn't work. Turns out I took the tiniest of tiny little knicks out of the...

Re: epox turning into a ghost town

Been a long time since I've been around here, but I've still got my re-capped 8K7A+ running a 2400 in a drive farm. Even my main rig is still a Socket A board (a Shuttle AN35 Ultra), and I see no...

Re: Comcast cable to Verizon DSL?

If your signal stats are good enough, and pings aren't as good as you'd like them, you can ask Verizon to switch you from Interleaved to Fastpath. The Verizon Dsl forum at dslreports.com is a good...

    Re: Video/DVD editing programs

Guess better late than never. Personally, I use and recommend Sony's Vegas Movie Studio. This is the home user version that sells for about $100. Comes with a pretty good DVD authoring program,...

    Re: Recommendations for 8K7A drivers

It's been so long since I've done it, I'm not sure what version they are. Let me check on it and see. 5.04 sounds familiar, but I'm not certain.

    Re: 8K7A+ and T-Bred 2400+ Support

Like I said in my previous post, the RAID channels will run drives larger than 137 GB. The RAID bios is part of the mobo bios update, so if you have the latest bios for the board, you should be set....

    Re: Recommendations for 8K7A drivers

I ran into a problem with the older Busmaster drivers with my burner not being recognized by some burning programs, so I just stuck with the standard Microsoft ones. For some reason (can't even...

    Re: 8K7A+ and T-Bred 2400+ Support

Thanks, E-Blitz. Actually it isn't for my Epox, or even a mobo. Blew one out on my keyboard (the music kind). Since the cap subject was already brought up I thought I'd ask. And just think, I...

    Re: 8K7A+ and T-Bred 2400+ Support

    E-Blitz:
I think you have that backwards. The 8k7a is a PATA board, using standard IDE cables. SATA is what came later. BTW, I've got a cap question for you while I'm here. When replacing them,...

    Re: TV capture settings

WOW! My own preset! Really, I don't know enough to deserve the honor, but if you insist. The settings I use should give you about 6 1/2 hr. episodes, maybe 7. If you want higher quality, shoot...

    Re: 8K7A+ and T-Bred 2400+ Support

I'm assuming you mean mostly from heat? I have opened up the front of the case with some large drill holes, and have several 80's blowing across the drives. The machine is on almost constantly (use...

    Re: AIW 9600XT problem

Have you tried older drivers? I've had much better luck with these 4.12 drivers https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-8-082-041130a-019577c.exe.
  16. Re: Editing in Premiere Pro...whats your system?

I'm no pro here by any means, but I recently had a chance to use a MAC/Final Cut Pro system and wasn't impressed at all with it's speed. I don't know what the specs were or how new/old the system...

    Re: TV capture settings

Give this a try, it's what I currently use. Gives me about 3 1 hour episodes (42 mins. after cutting comercials) on a single layer (I'm guessing you have dual layer) disc.

    First, you will be...

    Re: 8K7A+ and T-Bred 2400+ Support

I've been using Kingston ValueRam lately. Circuit City has been running some great prices (after rebates) for several months now for PC3200, something in the ballpark of $25 for a stick of 512. ...

    Re: 8K7A RAM Support

Surprised no one answered this. You can use faster RAM, but the board will only run it at PC2100. Go with the non-ecc.

    Re: 8K7A headache
