Re: Wow! Temps was 23c on my Phenom II x4 945!

Ran Prime95 on all four cores with the blend torture test. Temp never goes above 43c. Consumed about 1.5 GB x 4 of memory. The CPU cooler activates at around that temp.

Wow! Temps was 23c on my Phenom II x4 945!

I finally got the core temp of my phenom lower than my previous of 26c to 23c! This is with C1E and Cool N Quiet enabled!

Used the Gigabyte overclock tool to check the temp, and there it was 23c....

Core i7 960 Supports a max of 24 GB of memory?

The chip is a 64 bit chip, yet, the PAE is only 36-bits. This means it could support a max of 24 GB of memory? Ridiculous! Essentially, you have a bottle neck because the PAE will not let you use up...
  5. Re: If you have a Radeon 5000-series card, read this

I'm a high end gamer. Frequently replaces the vid card when a new one comes out. Sell the old one on ebay so I won't loose too much money buying a new one.

To make it short, the Samsung monitor is...
  6. Re: If you have a Radeon 5000-series card, read this

I have used the ATI since forever on my Samsung monitor. I always had the high end cards. Never happened to me once with snow. It's a case by case basis.

Re: Watercooling, temps I should be seeing?

I picked up an UltraChillTEC cooler for 89 bucks. It's a TEC. Was going to go for water cooling, but, costs too much. Heard Forum users saying it's not worth it (they haven't tried it). Well, my...

    Re: AMD QUAD processor

Athlon x4 620 is as close to performance to the phenom II x4. Price/Performance ratio, I think it is a good choice for the Athlon x4. And, it's not as hot.

    Re: Wtf!!!

That is probably what was meant when it says unsupported even though it works. If it boots into Windows run CPU-Z and find out.

    Re: First Time PC Build

You can get a refurbished 750 watt OCz power supply for 40 bucks at www.svc.com...

You can save a load of money by not limiting yourself to one place for your parts.

Re: AMD build - Take a look- what do you think?

If the Phenom II x4 940 BE is cheaper, I'd suggest getting that instead.

    Re: GA-MA 790XT-UD4P opinion

I have that exact same memory. Eventhough it's rated for 1.65, it can be overvolted. At 1.65 volt, it can run at 1600 mhz.

But, if I have it at 1.75+, it causes Windows Explorer to crash.

    Re: GA-MA785G-UD3H Dual Channel Question????

Unganged and ganged are both dual channel modes.

The difference between the two is that unganged is letting each core have access to their own memory. In other words, their memory are not shared...

  23. Re: If you have a Radeon 5000-series card, read this

    Very cool!

Some manufacturers learned about this issue and installed additional capacitors to filter the signals from other devices. Maybe those people have defective cards. Who really knows.
  24. Re: If you have a Radeon 5000-series card, read this

So far I have not experienced visual noise. However, I have seen visual noise on many other people's computers at Youtube. HIS has another card that has some noise filters (solid state capacitors)...
