Note: with checking, I really mean verifying (can't edit the title as a 'common' user)
A year or 2 ago, I had to work out why a desktop computer suddenly couldn't process scanning data as before....
I tried that one, but didn't see anything suspicious. Are you sure it would show up anything, even really bad stuff?
By the way, I have to double-check this, but I thought I saw a marked...
That 's the odd thing; I cannot accumulate all the 'used' RAM to the ~5.5 GB it displays as being in use through the reported usage in the column of RAM usage per process ...
That 's what stumped...
Got this laptop (HP) after a remote family member passed away.
My wife wants to use it in future, but there's something very wrong with it.
Less than a minute or 2 after you log in the RAM usage...
Which Windows flavor did you have installed and which one did you use for the re-install ... ?
I know from reports by my son and daughter-in-law that Windows 8 is better (and lighter) than Windows...
Hi, have you fixed the problem meanwhile and how?
I 'm just curious ;)
Indeed, motherboard is another possibility because of the many sub-regulators on it, like the CPU Voltage reg., memory voltage reg. and others ...
Good luck with the swap and the re-install ;)
Are you sure about the PSU of that (problem) rig? That is the basis for any stable system and if it were 'off' by a little bit on one or more of its main Voltage rails, it will never be stable ......
Try installing this on your Linux box: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/logmein-linux-access-logmein-computers-linux-computers/
My son uses it's Windows equivalent to rescue friend's computers remotely....
Oops, realized my mistake; a 7970 isn't a nVidia GPU card, of course ... (always have been a Nvidia user for F@H)
So, scrap the previous post :o
You might then check on GPU driver issues...
You still might check the Stanford Forums for reports on similar trouble; might be something to do with the GPU drivers or even the special PhysX System Software which plays a large part in F@H to my...
It has been known, in the past, that some series of WU's are defective in their setup and will crash on about any system.
If it isn't persistent and you are sure your Voltages and Temps are within...
Don't know; a cold boot with that kind of a reaction to your problem is a novelty to me.
[Edit]: a 950W power supply should be more than sufficient for a dual GPU system.
Have you been able to...
Hey Activate: AMD, you should check on your system Voltages and on the GPU's temps before anything else.

Hi Sick Willie,
odd though; before I log in, the default seems to be 'beginning', when logged in I see 'Last Year' whilst I never had any other setting than 'beginning' ...
Seems (a) revamp(s) of...
OK, but I meant all the old discussions, not only the 'How-to' stuff.
It 's the discussions and their writers that make out the history of Team 734 and that seems to be gone ...
That, though, is...
Waoow, I haven't been here for a while (sorry), but I almost find no history of F@H Team 734 ...
I started in the Fall of 2004 and stopped at around the same time in 2010 (financial burden too...
Sorry to hear this, John.
In this specific field, a lot has been done already and outcomes are much, much better than they were.
A lot has to do with early detection, of course.
I truly hope for a...

Hi guys,
I wasn't poached by anyone either.
And to be fair, not all the history of that business is still around (here).
As Jester said, this is very old stuff, meanwhile.
Because of...

Hi, in stead of taking a picture/photograph of your screen

you do better making a screen print ('Print Scrn' key on KB) and paste the result in an Image viewer,...

You need to synchronize your System clock(s) with one of the World's Atomic clocks to make it stable and give you correct time.
You can do that in Windows (these days), I even can in my XP...

Using the user future feature, I can tell you that if you stay producing like it is now and the others do the same, you 'll be at #65 within 1 year ...
Of course, this is an average view and...
