    My Impressions New AX-7

Well I got my AX-7 today

First off, I need to curse PowerHungry off for doing a review on the AX-7. He did nothing less, than cause my brain to go into a I want it mode and giving me goosebumps over it

First off, even with the mobo out, it is a twit to put on due to the size of the fins

Second, if your motherboard tray does not come out, getting the motherboard screw in that is next to the PS/2 connector is also a twit.

Third, it's heavy and I am real glad that it has a three prong clip. I would have preferred it to have a motherboard mount due to the weight.

    I installed a PANAFLO FBA-08A12H 80mm Fan 12v, 0.25A, 2950 RPM, 39.6 CFM, 32 dBA, on the AX-7

So far, I am very very impressed with it.

I can't wait for mine to come. It will get here Friday. I should have gone for the Next Day Air Delivery, because I am really anxious right now.

Those are impressive numbers. Ever since PH did that review I have been thinking about getting one but now after reading yours I may order one tonight,
Those are about the temps I get on my 1800+ at 1.75 with an SK6 with the 60X38 Delta after AS3 has had time to set. Your running a fairly low velocity 80mm fan and you are going to have a degree or two lower than that.
Well thanks for the review and will see if KD computers has any left in stock.

    Cool

I'm so used to putting on and taking off heatsinks that I might forget that everyone isn't as experienced as I am.

A couple of hints, I found it easier to mount with the fan on the heatsink and use a long flathead screwdriver, it helps allot.

I mounted it without taking out my motherboard tray, so I could experience what people without them would. Location of the socket and its orientation makes a difference in ease of installation, just be careful and you all will be alright.

For the first time in a review, I was actually conservative and pushed the AX-7 harder than any other heatsink, I've ever done.

The numbers were just so fantastic, that I felt the need to go that extra distance with the AX-7.

You guys are going to find out for yourselves just how good this baby is, just remember who told you about it...and read my reviews
