I just looked at the A7A266:

    http://usa.asus.com/mb/comimages/a7a266.jpg

    Here are the dimensions: L77 x W77 x H80 (mm)

It's real hard for me to tell if it would fit, because your socket is sideways compared to most Socket A motherboards

looks like it would be a REAL TIGHT fit if you ask me, especially with that row of caps right at the 'bottom' of the ziff socket

    Cool

It would be a tight fit, my Soyo Dragon Plus is designed just about the same way, but all I needed to do was bend one cap ever so slightly and it fit.

I did mention that in the review.

Now we didn't say don't get it and we didn't say do get it, We couldn't tell for sure but I am iffy on it fitting. maybe you could call KDComputers (or anyone else that sells it) and ask for their tech support and ask them if it would fit.

PH- Is it ok to ask how you think the AX-7 will stack up against the SLK-600 when it is released- or is it too soon to tell??

    Cool

They are very different and serve two different markets.

The SLK-600 is the long awaited successor to the SK-6 and as such being all copper requires a high speed fan for maximum performance which is a couple of degrees better that the SK-6's performance.

The AX-7 is aimed at the large heatsinks and can compete extremely well against them and like the PAL8045 but only better, works extremely well with low speed, low noise fans, so it can be anything you want it to be!!

To me the AX-7 is the happy medium, in that it gives top notch performance without the high pitched screaming. I wish I had them on my other machines, but I have to wait until there is an ample supply in the dealer network, before I can get any more!!

    Cool

You know, nobody said that, contact KD Computers, they even have a toll free number.

They sell both Asus motherboards and the AX-7, if anybody knows Dave will???

But whatever you do DO SOMETHING instead of wavering back and forth, everybody has tried to help you, now its time to help yourself!!
