    Unhappy Rheobus?

I was surfing last night and came across a Rheobus that not only raised and lowered fan speed but also dimmed the leds while moving the knob. Well I marked the site wrong and can't find it now! Anyone hear of one like this and if so where can I find it? TIA, Butch

Geeze $90? Canadian is worth a lot less than US right?

I could probbably order the parts from Jamco and make a rheobus for cheapo(then you get the satisfaction{or embarasment} of calling it home-made).

If you build one yourself, I found a big list of DIY links which includes a rheobus.

    Cool PC Mods

chuson1, Pc mods emailed me and sad the one they have will "not" change intensity of led as knob is turned up and down. The one offered at Big Foot says it will. This is the effect I will be looking for. TIA,Butch

    hey Butch ...
    are you sure about that?
cause i am going to buy a Rheobus soon too... and PCmods is selling V.2... BigFoot is selling the V.1 a few weeks ago but i heard that they are selling the V.2 soon... and so far I know they are both selling the same product... (correct me if i m wrong)...

btw... do you mean the "color" of the led will be different as you turn the fan up & down???

    The intensity does not change.

    We sell LEDs here:
    http://www.pcmods.com/list.asp?DepID=10&CtgID=63

You can use the fan 4packs with the rheobus.

    >On the new bayus 2.0 do you sell the changable leds and if not where can they be bought? Does the intensity of the led go up and down wnen the knob turns or is always brite?

    Brightness of led

chuson1, The brightness from dim to full is said to change on the bigfoot site. The above post is the email returned by pcmods to me saying it does not change in the first line. Butch

    hey Butch...
but the one in BigFoot said that their Rheobus's "led" will change intensity when change the fan speed??? i m confused now... I m not sure about the BigFoot Rheobus since they looks/function exactly the same as the Rheobus from PCmods... (and i thought they order those from PCmods too... so isn't it should be da same?)

anyways... if you find out or if you e-mail BigFoot and you know the answer... plz post back cause I m having exam rite now so I m not going to buy any Rheobus this week or next week... but just let me know if they are differences.... thx...

    hey chuson, butch,

I'm not sure who emailed you but I just hooked up a Rheobus v2.0 and they certainly still dim with adjustment. Maybe the person from PCmods who emailed you misunderstood the question somehow.

but i've seen it first hand now, they dim and brighten with adjustment.

    I hope that helps guys.

The PCmods Rheobus has never turned right off that's maybe the one downside on this device for my customers (if they require it). Myself I don't mind them always on but some do want that off function.

The v2.0 device does seem to get slightly more dim on the lowest setting but I couldn't be sure. It might just be the red LED comes across different than the blue.

So bottom line no "off" feature but likely 5v and dim all the way counterclockwise.
