    Angry HP DVD200i Burner

I got one of the new HP DVD200i burners as soon as they came out and am generally very pleased with it, except that the software bundle is out of date.

Stomp's RecordMax is a version old and outdated. This is a brand new drive, released in late April, why can't HP put current versions that was updated in February or must I spend $25 to update it as a hidden cost of the drive?

It's possible hp had already bought the software and made a deal with the makers of the software before the new version came out, so they had already made cd's with the old version.

I called HP today and they told me that version 3.5b, the one in the bundle, is the latest version of the "lite" RecordNow" app. The RecordNow Max version 4.0 is the full featured version and must be purchased via upgrade separately for $24.95.

RecordNow Max is worth $24.95. Very nice app!!!

    Thanks for your thoughts,
