    Question

I know a little while back athlon motherboards had some stability problems. I was wondering if they were worked out. Are systems running athlons stable now? If they are now much more stable, what is the best company to buy an athlon system from, preferably configurable? I can't build my own, have no idea how. Thanks in advance.

BTW, do system makers have the Voodoo5 5500 yet? and how long until they are in systems?

    Thanks so much.

They are as stable as new technology is. A new 800mhz Intel Coppermine will have issues. If you want cutting edge technology, you have to expect a couple of issues to pop up.

Here's a list of a few companies that built computers on the internet, I don't know anything about their reliability or service:
    http://www.monarchcomputer.com/
    http://www.lookpc.com/acsi/index.html
    http://www.pc-build-it.com/athlon2.htm
    http://www.unionbuiltbox.com/

You may want to check your yellow pages and see if you can find a local company that will build a computer to your specifications

The Voodoo 5 is due out real soon, BUT it's new and cutting edge technology, so you need to expect a few bumps in the road.

    Hope that helps

Currently, http://www.monarchcomputer.com is THE AMD OEM authorized reseller. AMD has enough confidence in Monarch to list them on their own website.

These guys will be the FIRST to sell any Thunderbird; whether it's a flipchip, socket, or slot.
