I'm still running a GeForce 2 GTS 32MB DDR!! I'm gonna wait a bit to see the prices drop, but I'm definitely going ATI this go round.
I'm going to try to wait untill christmas, and then build a new computer with a Hammer and a Radeon 9700. Hopefully...
I started with a radeon 7000 32mb pci card, Then I upgrade my hole system. The jump from Radeon 7000 to radeon 8500 was tremendous. I'm assuming the Radeon 9700 will make the same impact, Along with the amd HAMMER and all the new goodies coming soon. I'm definitly going with the Radeon 9700 ( I will never get an Nvida) I have always been a radeon fan and always will. No offence to ALL the nvida fans! I don't have alot of money so I am going to cluck my playstation2 and a couple of other things to get a 9700. I cant wait...............

a quote from extremetech that i like :
Despite ATI's advantage going into the fall and holiday season, we all know NV30 is going to be a force to be reckoned with. ATI may have won this round, but nVidia is nothing if not relentless. In a conversation with Dave Orton, ATI's CEO, he was very clear in saying, "We in no way underestimate nVidia. They're still the number one player, and the one to beat."![]()

I will be waiting, theres not even any hgames released yet too justify that powerful of a card. I hope lots of companys jump on board and start manufactuiring there cards so there will be a price war.
It is always good to wait a month or so after a card is released. The price should go down alot in that time frame. The price on my Leadtek TI4600 went down $75 USA within two months. Of course I paid top dollar for mine, because I needed to update my Geforce II really bad. The new ATI 9700 will be a very nice card. I am going to do a CPU and motherboard upgrade first. I will wait until spring to upgrade my card. Not that I really need to, I just like having top hardware in my system.
