    8KHA+ & TBred 'B' 2600+... Is that couple allowed?!

    k. That's all. Does anyone have any idea if we can run an 'elder' 8KHA+ & TBred 'B' XP 2600+ using the last BIOS available?! Any trustworthy web site perform such test? It's been tough to find out such information... honestly sometimes it seems that we are forced to change our mobo each 6 months and I intend to have my 8KHA+ at least for more one year...

    I'll second that bump.

I've been waiting for the 2400 for a while now.

Neoguri, nowhere on the AOA thread you linked to did it mention that the 2600+ was not supported on an 8KHA. What Epox tech said was to check the Epox UK site for updates after initial testing was completed.

As of now there is no support for the 2600+ on an 8KHA+. Yes there may be in the future but I doubt it. If you read the thread, Pinky says that the 2600+ is supported but ET replies by saying "Unfortunatley not Pinky. That quote was only made in relation to the XP2200+ at that point." So the question to this thread was "Does anyone have any idea if we can run an 'elder' 8KHA+ & TBred 'B' XP 2600+ using the last BIOS available?!" The answer is no we can't.

    Question

Reading a bit more out the web and following all your thoughts folks, we can realize that nowadays there is no official support for the upcoming TBreds 'B' cpus in our 8KHA+ (even 2.0 PCB)... unfortunately. However this really does not mean that it is not possible. In fact what we can see it is that, in terms of hardware part (I mean, electronic design & customization of the mobo), a new BIOS would be our salvation. The point now is to know if Epox will act fairly with its customers and release such thing, or they will say only '8KHA+ descontinued' and will force us to buy a new model if our goal is to run the ultimate Athlon XP CPUs.

What would it be easier to happen?

They better, I have been waiting for this 2.0 ghz Athlon for a year now. If they hang us out to dry I'm sure I won't be the only one here that will be pissed.

    Question

After almost 3 months my first post in this thread we can see that Epox has recently released a beta BIOS version for our 8KHA+ that claims full support to TBreds B 133/266 including the newcomers 2400+ & 2600+ (some exceptions exists, but that is not the case now).

Now, I ask you folks: Has anyone already tested it under really 'stressed' and overclocked conditions?? Our ancient mobo and their voltage regulators can cope rock-solid with 1.85V and some extra Megahertz as good as it does with Palominos and other weaker TBreads??

Suggestion and thoughts are pretty welcome. Any good review, article concerning this issue will also be appreciated.

it seems the 2600+ 266fsb's are in short supply.
heard a rumour we might not see any more of them either.
might have to go for a 2400+ to keep me going until hammer next year. i'll let u know if i grab one.
