    New Monitor CRT or LCD

    Hi Guys

I'm looking to buy a new monitor.I was set on getting a top of the range 19" crt monitor But I have since looked at Lcd tft monitors which can be bought for about the same or not much more than a crt.
The big questions is what would be better for playing games etc a top of the range crt monitor or a low end lcd monitor.

Anybody out there use an lcd monitor for gameplay out there.

    Cheers all

crts are better for gaming b/c they can have higher refresh rates but LCDs are pushing into the market.....

as of right now i'd recommend a CRT for gaming...

    Yeah..what TheSavage said

    As for a recommendation..

I would probably recommend the Sony 19" CRT, Model CPD-G420S (although you may have a hard time finding it in Scotland )

If you're looking for a nice monitor with a fairly low price..go with the Samsung 955DF

    Hope that helps

since i already own a 19" Multiscan E400 (SONY)... i am now looking for a 18" LCD by Samsung, the TFT series... in silver, for a price under 600 (few months away), currently at 900..

I've got a Hercules Prophetview 920 LCD and there's no way I'd go back to CRT now. There's no noticable ghosting, the picture is sharp and crystal clear, and I save heaps of desk space. Plus it looks sweet.
