128mb 8500...
For a hard core gamer it would have to be the Ti4200 but for DVD playback the 8500 rocks.

It comes down to where you'll be spending the majority of your time. Like Neoguri said, the Ti4200 is faster for games, but the Radeon has superior DVD playback (I have the latter, and can attest to thisOriginally posted by PhilthyPhil

). If I had to choose between the two, I would still go with the Radeon.
The GF4 ti4200 is a good choice for gaming, not too bad on DVD playback either.
Tough question,, The Ti4200 is a great card for the money,, I would shoot for a GIGABYTE 128 8500 AP128DG-H,, if you could find one. I personally am looking and hopefully will find it soon.
I just want something different to tide me over till Christmas till the R350 Comes out.
Basically it comes down to what you want, and dont let anyone tell you different.
Good Luck!
I, too, have been looking for the 128 Mb Gigabyte Radeon 8500.
I'm curious, why the Gigabyte 8500?

Here is just 4 reasons why,,
Bottom Line,, the card kicks the Ti4200s butt and runs with the Ti4600 and both cards are suppose to be way above its class.
This card cranks out of the box and I really want one bad so I can OC the crap out of it.
Oh well,, who knows!
Just saw 128MB 8500 at BB 129.95 after rebate.

I was wondering why that make of card. I have been hearing good things about it also, thanks for the links.
Radeon8500,
You're right, I was looking up this card trying to find anyone who carried it and the only one that had them was a store in the U.K. Did they stop making these cards? I don't want one myself but I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I see anyone who's selling them.![]()
