    Go ATI!

...Does anybody else feel like Congress simply bailed themselves out? Isn't that what they really mean by a bailout?

Lets not just blaim ATI for the 8X AGP,,but what is VIA doing about it,, and "the Inquirer" is a joke. Dont worry though they will have it fixed by the time the NV30 gets released,,watch and see , that way Nvidia can benefit from all of ATI's mistakes.

I still think we are a good month away before we see anything great out of 8X AGP.

I think it'll be about a year until we benefit from 8x AGP, since there isn't a single card that even utiliises 4x AGP that much...

You wouldn't be an ATI fan would you?

It didn't much seem like a performance problem, according to the article, they don't POST.
Just a little bit of a difference there. Not that they won't POST under several different circumstances, anyway ATI looking into it, read the article for yourself, draw your own conclusion.
It's a bug for no particular blame, just pointing this out so that people might know what to do.

First of all I am not referring to your BS article, The Inquirer, Anandtech and Tom's hardware all all BS review sites .

I am referring to what is posted here and on other forums. There are some issues with the KT400 chipset Mobo's and SIS chipset 8X AGP boards.

Oh well its just a matter of time before this is old news and everything is fixed.

Huh? Not blame ATI? They even admitted its their problem and their guys are looking into it!

Is it that impossible for you to admit that they are selling beta hardware?

and fyi, the inquirer is a hell of a lot more reliable than you.

Beta hardware? No. The drivers have problems right now, they'll sort them soon. They are already getting sorted...look at the bug fixes, etc. I'm getting tired of saying this...but the drivers were written from the ground up. If you don't believe me, check Anandtech's 9700 Preview and read for yourself.

If NVIDIA had to re-write their entire driver set, I doubt they'd have the card stable in a matter of weeks either. Nobody would.

It was ATI's fault I agree...though do keep in mind that 8x AGP is very new though, and it's more growing pains than anything.

And if the drivers have problems, what do you care? You ALWAYS wait a month after a card comes out anyway. NVIDIA or ATI. Prices drop, bugs get fixed, and performance goes up. You can't lose.

    Ouch...that was cold, dude.

Anandtech & Toms are both decent review sites. The Inquirer is just waiting to be sued, they're a BS site not worth mentioning.

Umm.. when nVidia came out with the Geforce256 it never had problems like this. I owned one and it was the first 4x AGP card on the market and it worked flawlessly.

i think, any brand new technology that comes out... and people buy it first are beta testers anyways...

but take a look at how complex this **** is now compared to Geforce256...

i bet if Nvidia came out first to 8x AGP and DX9, then it would be the same problems...

For a card as complex as the GeForce4 is? I don't think so.

You have NO intentions of buying the card anyway, so take a step down and just watch as things happen. I give it at most a month until this card has drivers running fine, and only a few people with issues. Ever notice how most of the 9700's problem areas are in games that were released AFTER the card was finalized?

You act as if someone is forcing you to buy this card. I would not buy this card right now, I wouldn't buy any card in its first month. Issues are sorted with time.

At least they aren't running circles around the issue and blaming it on the chipsets (although right now I think it's a problem on both ends, since AGP 8x is very new...aren't they just now finalizing the standard?)
