    Unhappy

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum (never read anything, never posted anything) and I have a problem. I have an Asus A7V beta bios 1005D and I experience instability in both win2000 and win98 when I enable "optimal" settings in the bios, the problem is solved by putting this on normal which costs me a little performance. With instablility I mean that my system crashes (and I have to hard boot, even in win2000) when I run winamp with a plugin or rhino3d (www.rhino3d.com). It doesn't appear to crash with games however.

    my specs :
    Tbird900
    256PC133 ram
    IBM 75gxp 46,1gb
    Asus A7V
    CL geforce2gts
    300watt PS case
    CL PCI128 (sound card)
    Aopen 52x CD-ROM

I know that the normal/optimal settings are about the AGP settings among other things but I have tried a lot of nvidia drivers but to no avail. How can I put these settings on optimal and maintain stability?

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Change to the 1005.03e, the 1005.03d BIOS is unstable as all hell! On the other hand, the 1005.03e bios is ultra-stable.

I used the 1004C for a long time, same problem. I can't even install the 1005E. Maybe I'll try the final version tonight.
