    Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence

SETI uses thousands of computers like mine and yours to process data from radiotelegraph telescopes that receive radio transmission information from outer space. Some day they hope to find a signal that is from some other intelligent (presuming we are intelligent ) in the universe.

This is the site where you can find out more and download the software to add your computer to the thousands currently helping.

You can join the team here at AMB too

Yep it takes 99% processor at idle and about 13.5mb memory in NT4/2000. Welcome aboard Spud and Annakonda. My old SETI team seems to be breaking up so I need to see how to change my old (other) account (Gator/Pod Racers) to Oreo/Athlonmb.com.

I use the same name as in this forum.
It seems pretty long to get to 100%!!!
I use it only in screensaver mode (takes too resources while playing 3d).

Oreo's right. I use Win98se and set the program to no screen saver but run all the time. I have a cable modem so I don't notice any lags, and it doesn't hog my resources (athlon 800 with 256mb ram) I load it at startup.

BTW, Oreo, redownloading it and reinstalling seems to have fixed my windows protection error problem (also reinstalled windoze)

    Welcome annaconda and spud

Here you go: Ok in Win98 set to run all the time, If on cable or DSL set to autoconnect, I do not run the screen saver at all!!! I set my power settings to turn off my moniter after 20 min of non use(or you can use the blank screen option). This has worked really good for me. If you are running NT/Win2K use the command line version. Add the exe to the startup folder so it starts everytime you crank your machine or reboot. Thats about it. Hope this helps.
