I plan on picking this up later this month (I already have the first RE on the Cube), so I might post some impressions at a later date. There are lots of online reviews and they seem to be overwhelmingly positive. Of course, you can always give it a rent.
I don't have a Gamecube, but I'm debating whether or not to pick on up. I think it has the most original titles or atleast console specific games.

saw the ad for it today..looks wicked!
I played the first Resident Evil for Playstation(horrible game) then came Resident Evil 2,, fell madly in love and it changed my life forever,,,,ok well maybe not,,but it was a great game and played it from front to back 3 times.
So then I got Dino Crisis and played that,,,ok.
But this one looks to be the best! IQ is fantastic and the story line looks just as good as the second one.
Makes me want to buy a Gameqube,,but I hope they will make a PC version,,ok wishful thinking!
Later.
i'll wishful think along with you![]()
Best. Game. Ever.
Not really, but it's the best RE one yet. It explains a lot, excellant AI, graphics, and controls, but it's very hard. Low ammo, and herbs. I played it with my uncle for like 2 days, and we didn't even finish the first disc. Excellant game though. We got up to the point where you go play with some hunters with a grenade launcher.![]()

RE games are great. I have played 2 & 3. as a matter of fact I played 3 first then 2 and now I am at the end of 1 where you kill tyrant. RE is the only reason why I was considering Gamecube but I went with the X.
While I'm excited at the notion of having the complete RE series (0 - 4) on the Gamecube, I'm peeved at CAPCOM for the $39.99 price point for #2 and 3 due early next year (they do realize that all they're doing is porting Dreamcast versions of games that are over three years old, right?). I plan on getting the complete run, but there's no way I'm paying $40 a pop for #2 or 3.
Actually, I think RE was the best one. 2 was good, but 3 I wasn't impressed by. 4 was excellent (cuz it's just like one.) and 0 is wicked...excellent, stunning...can't stop playing.
Wish I had a cube...been at my friends house playing it for awhile...unbelieveable.

Are you sure about playing #4? AFAIK, Capcom's working on #4 either for a late 2003 or 2004 release for the Gamecube, which will be the first appearance on any platform.Originally posted by ozzy983

Maybe you were referring to RE: Code Veronica X on either the Dreamcast or PS2?
I agree with you on the ResEvil 2&3 thing PrivatePixel, I'm really irritated with Capcom just re-releasing the Dreamcast versions. First of all, the Dreamcast versions weren't really all that much better than the original Playstation versions, and second, the Dreamcast versions are extremely dated. I think they should give at least RE2 a complete remake, just like they did with RE.
And while I'm on an RE rant, why does Capcom refuse to use a better control scheme? The Devil May Cry control scheme would work SO much better, and yet we're still stuck using a clunky scheme that was clunky back when it debuted back in 1996! Navigating the locations feels almost like you're trying to drive a semi truck through the levels. It's ridiculous. I still love the games because of the atmosphere and everything, but sometimes I feel like the gameplay is more of a chore than anything.
That all said, I'm going to pick up my copy of RE0 as soon as I finish Metroid Prime![]()
For as long as I've been playing the RE series, one would think that one would get accustomed to the control scheme, but that is never the case. It's especially frustrating during the heat of battle when your character's fending off hordes of zombies and you want to manoeuvre out of their way, only to find you're actually running directly into their grubby hands!Originally posted by Sephiroth

It's almost as bad in Silent Hill. I guess that's part of the game's charm.
I'm so tempted to buy RE3: Nemesis for the DC on Capcom's website because it's only $9.95 (and we already know the GC version is the same thing, except it costs 4x as much), but being the completist I am, I want to see all of the RE Gamecube cases lined up in a row on my shelf.
Misery aside, I can't wait for January 2003 to come soon enough. Here's a great teaser poster for fans in the know!
