Everquest// Windows XP// IRQ sharing// HELP ME PLZ!

I'm having major issues trying to play EQ on my new PC. It runs fine, but I go LD any time I work my sound and video hard. I worked thru the EQ-Tech site list and the only thing I can't seem to get to their 'specs' is the IRQ sharing. I currently have a Soyo Dragon Ultra PLatinum 333 and I am using the built in nic-card, and sound card. Sound has been allocated to IRQ slot 5, but my Video card and nic-card share IRQ slot 11. I'd like to put the nic on slot 10, but I can't figure out the bios settings. If I reserve any of the slots, they close them out completely and reallocate everything to the slots 'not reserved'. Slot 10 is currently allocated to my RAID (which is disabled in Windows but still 'recognized').

Any thoughts?

I think if you disable ACPI in the bios and reinstall your OS it should allow you to reassign IRQs of the devices. I'm not positive if this works in WinXP but I've read somewhere that it would help a similar problem in Win2k.

If you have a spare hard drive to work with you might want to test it out with that to see how it goes.
