Know about your teammates -> A little about yourself

Since we're all teammates, we might as well get to know little bit about each other. Just write some things that you do, what you like, just anything about you that you want others to know.

I guess I'll start:

Well, like most of you guys know already, I'm from Vancouver BC, Canada. We like to say eh a lot up here and everyone owns a beaver (it's a Canadian thing) . I've liked computer and got my 1st computer few years ago. (Pentium 75MHz). Upgraded along the way to 166MHz and finally had the chance to build a computer on my own. Now that was an experience. Later worked in a local computer store to gain more experience. Learned about AMD few years ago and have been using AMD ever since. (Can't beat those price I tell ya). Right now I'm majoring in engineering physics. In my free time I love to play sports, hang out with my buddies, travel, camping & hiking, kayaking, and check out this forum.

I hope this catches on! I am looking forward to learn more about my fellow teammates both in Genome and DF.

I am originally from Illinois. Spanky is my big brother. I now live in Colorado Springs. I have a BS in MIS, but it is a little dated and I do marketing for a casino in Cripple Creek <See Below> Colorado. My Father has cancer and Womacks has allowed me to use some of the computers to assist in the fight.

To me this whole ball is about fighting cancer and I am not certain how much I am helping, but it beats not doing anything.

If you come to Womacks look me up and I would enjoy buying you dinner.

And if anyone knows how to turn on the spell checker in these windows, drop me a line.

I live in Westminster, CO and am a nuclear safety analyst at a former weapons production site. I've been into computers since my high school got its first TRS-80. I crunched about 1000 WUs for SETI, then decided to try something new. TredRobertSlede, I'm close enough that I might just take you up on your offer.

Yea I'm his older brother but he's bigger than me

Spankie lives out in country in southern,Illinois and works as a retail store manager in a fairly small town. Been cruzin the forums for well over 3 years and like most of us learned how to build,tweak and O/c pcs from all the info posted here. First system I had was a HP 286... Really became involved in the forums here back as a fairly early member of the Seti team here back when there was 30-40 members from what I remember. All my systems are @home here and all except the lappie were built by me...getting a little outdated due to the fact most are going close to 2 yrs old and still don't own an XP processor. I have 2 children and one granddaughter age 3. Would consider myself an outdoors guy by nature...personally I most likely will never stray from doing the types of DC projects this team is currently running now...been lucky to know many good people here and someday hope to meet some in person..

I live in Cold Lake, Alberta Canada and am in the service. I spent the first 7.5 years as an Air Traffic Controller and the remaining as an MP. I currently have just shy of 21 years completed. Presently, am serving a tour with OP Apollo which is the Canadian contribution to OP Enduring Freedom. Been in South-West Asia for 5.5 months now and will be returning home middle of January. An interesting point to note is that Canada has committed more troops to this war against terrorism than any other coallition contry except the US. I am married and have an 8 year old daughter (8 today as it's her birthday, it's already the 27th here) and we are expecting our second child middle of August. (Dad was home for two weeks in November) I have been into computers since about '92 and am trained as a computer forensic investigator for DND. Other hobbies include fishing and restoring older cars (normally Buicks) our present project/basket case/money pit is a '74 Apollo GSX. I was born in Canada but grew up (11 years in Waltham and Hudson) in Massachusetts, moving back to Canada in '76. Other than that, I don't know what other info would be of any interest. Have a safe holiday season.

I'm in Chapel Hill, NC. I got my undergraduate degree in physics and my masters in EE, but now I work with computers. I'm crunching with a 1.2Ghz Athlon, an XP1700, and two XP1800. One of those computers acts as a server for a small diskless cluster that has an XP1600, two XP1800, and an old celron 466MHz.

I'm Colorado born, but grew up in St Louis before getting sick of it and moving back about a dozen years ago. Spent my younger years as auto mechanic in a shop that specialized in exotic European cars (read Ferrari, Lambo, etc). That got too rough on the old bones, so I went back to school and got my BS in Computer Science. I've spent the last five years working as a software analyst for a small company based in Golden. I've been involved in computers since the early 80's, when I got my first Commodore Vic 20.

I am from Thunder Bay Ontario (another Canadian), i am currently a grade 12 student at sir Winston Churchill high school. After I graduate this year i plan to go into computer science either at Lakehead (the university in town) or Waterloo (in waterloo ontario). I will probably end up going to Lakehead for financial reasons.

I work at Mcdonalds (see financail reasons ) and have been involved with computers since as far back as I can remember (my earliest memory of my early childhood was getting a 12 megahertz computer for Christmas). But I knew nothing more than how to turn a computer on until a little over a year ago. Since then my knowledge of hardware and software has grown exponentially.

I enjoy listening to music, hanging out with friends, golfing, stuff, and of course computers.

I got involved with genome@home about 6 months ago when a forum I frequented was advertiseing that they had a genome team. I joined but got sick of it quickly (It was a very dead team). Then I took a break from it, and found here a few months ago (I think August or somthing) and have been genomeing ever since.

Another Physics graduate here. I have been supervising a group of engineers for the past ten years. We maintenance avionics software for fighter airplane. Been up at Cold Lake a few times in the early 90's. Our company also builds visual systems for flight simulators. We have an agreement with ATI. We put 4 ATI chips in one board and write our own driver for it.

I am more a gamer than a cruncher. I spent most of my spare time on the Battle net. Starting from WCII, Starcraft, Bloodwar, D2 LOD and now Warcraft III.

Well, I'm from Germany and I'm working in Munich for a US company.

I'm into computers pretty much since I got my first C64 a couple of years ago (which I still have in working condition together with my beloved Ultima IV). Next was an Amiga 500 with SCSI followed by an Amíga 4000 which I occasionally hook up to the Internet to see if it still works and to update my Debian on it...

During my studies (Electrical Engineering specialized in communication technology), I got my first I486 and got into AMD when I bought my first Athlon850 and my Epox 8KTA+ (VIA KT133 hence my hate for VIA). That was when I stumbled upon AMDMB and I loved it ever since since it helped me to squeeze every bit of computational power out of my gear.

I participated in the Seti team and when things deteriorated in Seti land (not the Team that is), I decided to try something different until Seti2 hits the streets.

I joined the Folding team but I didn't like it so I joined DF which is a dynamic little group still

To celebrate my geekdom, I'm currently single and have more than 3 computers. That gives me time for my other hobbies which include riding bycicle, RC model ship building and destroying , satellite TV reception and other geek type stuff

I`ve been running Seti since Feb. 2001(mostly for The Pond). I`ve reached my goal of 2000 wu`s. Cancer has has take many family members(my aunt in 1980,my dad in 1992,my grandfather in 2000,etc.) and freinds over the years. Recently(last week) my wife lost a close uncle and my mother is fighting CLL. Doctors have given her less than 6 months to live. She has done amazing so far. Doctors told her in 1986 that she would live 5-10 years. Here we are 16 years later proving them wrong. Anyways, the way i look at it is that someone other than you has more sadness and suffering so be thankful for not having that bad. Hey at least i got to spend time with both my dad and mom to let them know how much i love them. I just got married in Aug. to my lovely wife Carla. Job wise i usually supervise in a warehouse/or manufacturing plant enviroment. Currently work when 1 of my 3 different agencies call to see if i`m available. Just discovered computers from freinds about 3 years ago. Now i like building them from the ground up for other ppl. Like PoP_PiP i like playing Diablo2 LOD. Infact tonight at roughly 7pm EST i`m playing a TCP/IP game with a buddy and maybe his brother. PoP_PiP if your intrested let me know i`ll pm you the IP address. Don`t worry we are all Rogers high speed.

It means someone was very careless with their commas and with closing their parentheses.

So I'll guess at the equation they were probably trying to write. That equation starts with an integral of a function f(x, y, z) with respect to dxdydz on the left hand side. (dV being shorthand for dxdydz). The equation converts that to an integral with respect to dudvdw, where x, y, and z are functions of u, v, w.
