    Wanted: More FF Servers

We've already launched the UT2k3 Ladder, but we're not done yet! We'd LIKE to see Ladders for Quake3 and MOH:AA as well.

But, we need your help. We need more servers!

Volunteering your server does NOT mean you have to keep it up and running for us 24/7. YOU pick when it's available to be used for Ladders. Also, because these Ladders are for one on one play, we don't need massive amounts of Bandwidth to run them.

Please PM one of the mods if you think you can help us out.

Thanks a bunch, y'all! Let's bring it ON!

Just standard maps? If not the person running the server needs to know. I can provide a server for either one.

For now, let's stick with standard maps (plus bonus packs if applicable). If there are some very popular other maps, then I think the combatants may request them from the admin. But for now, let's make it easy on everyone.

Thanks for the offer. We'll definitely be getting back to you

I am going to configure my dedicated UT2k3 server tonight and I can host for a Q3 match whenever necessary.
I live by cost/benefit. You call me cheap but I think of myself as thrifty.

    Thanks Freeze.

Looks like we'll be doing ok for more servers for other game ladders. Once the UT2K3 is up and running and we've got any little issues worked out, we'll announce the new ladders

I am going to try to set up a ut2003 server next week, never have tried to serve as my conectiuon has been up and down and my bandwidth is not great, but the reliability has been good for a month now (RT knocks on wood) and 1 on 1 would do nicely with my upload , (80-400 KbPS verries greatly day to day )

any links to toutorials for deticated server setup?

I have MOHAA and BF1942 buy not realy active in those right now

Looks like DeathBall did not catch on. I will move my deathball server to host [FF] ladder games. The current tournament server will also be move to host [FF] games possibly Q3 once I figure out the dedicated server version.

Sorry Red.. I know I tried it.. but I guess the multimegabyte download without being a bonus pack turned them off. Its pretty neat if you cna figure out how it all works.

I too have been considering (excluding ladder matches that I will host when requested) looking into other full mods like that but of smaller size. I.E. Overload, Greed, KoTS, among others. The problem is som many thigns are in half beta or not completed yet as everyopne just seems to be awaiting Epic and their bonus pack release.

It was a learning experience putting the server up so I'll change it again when I see a mod that I like.

I will run a server for ? something.

I am looking into buying some more games...

    what is popular besides UT2k3?
right now all I have is:
UT2k3 (which I am bored with)
    Americas army
    Warcraft3
    Shogo (oldie but goodie)

    Soon to be getting:
Vietcong! (and I will be serving this game)

My broadband connection in South Florida:

    2003-03-15 13:23:34 EST: 1243 / 266
Your download speed : 1243728 bps, or 1243 kbps.
    A 151.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 266276 bps, or 266 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

    My machine:
    8k7a
    1800+
    running at: 1.61ghz
    winXP home
    wd 7200 40gig 2meg.
Slayer of computers, parts and accessories.
