join me as we can invent it and make MILLIONS! yes it would look so sick to open up your computer case and have it look like the engine bay from a funny-car. I have seen from i think it was CoolIT brand makes CPU heatsink coolers that have Ferrari F430 V8 engine cover designs on them, maybe if they bought the rights from chrysler and made some HEMI versions i bet alot of people would buy those

Yeah and have fans that look like little turbos and engine cooling fans. Can have some that look like flex fans. Down to the bat cave to render some drawings so we can make millions off of it.

Slide me down a bottle of Sam Adams, any variety will do.
Will likely stay with ATI as Nvidia hasn't been up to snuff for a few years.

Well the issue with that is that ATI makes the reference card for it’s partners then it’s up to the partners to come up with something that sets them apart from the pack. So I would blame the partner companies for any lack of originality. I’m sure that if an ATI partner company felt a cooling solution that looked like a 57 Chevy would sell more cards and make them more money they would do it.

I’ve seen the Ferrari engine cooler, the vaguely "formula 1 car body" cooling solution and I’m sure there are some others that I’ve forgotten. None of the efforts appear to have great staying power in the market. My guess is that most people are not willing to pay premium for looks alone and are more interested in performance of the cooling solution.

Now that’s not to say that some people aren’t into the “looks” of a component, heck just look at how many people have windowed cases these days. But you face a BIG problem when you make a video card that looks like a car or a jet or a UFO or whatever. The problem is that once you insert that Video card into the PCIe slot all you see is the edge of the card.

Yeah it might be cool to have a Video card that looks like a classic Dodge Charger but even with a windowed case no one is going to see it. If you ask me the place for this kind of design is the CPU Heatsink solution. At least that’s seen by anyone looking into a case.

I’m sorry but the “I know it’s there so it’s cool” doesn’t work for this type of product. People who buy a card that looks like a 73 VW Bug…. Well maybe not a 73 VW bug…. Want other people to see it.

I have always used ATI Cards I my main systems. Nevered verd from that. My first ATI card was a rage 3d then went up from there. Have used Nvidia in my servers and such because I got the for free or very cheap. I have never had a driver issue with ATI cards on multiple system builds I have done.

Well then did you skip past the original Radeon DDR (R100) cards? I bought mine right after it was out and had months and months of driver issues.

It was a huge step up from my previous Video Card (Diamond Stealth II or III
Cant recall which) and I paid a lot for it. In gaming it was a great card but playing videos/DVD’s was almost impossible. There were entire web sites dedicated to the card and problems people had with the drivers at the time.

Eventually I gave up on it and went with an Nvidia TI4200 and I stuck with Nvidia for a LONG time after that.

I’ve been running ATI cards since I got a XT850 some time ago and I will say that I’ve not encountered any major issue with drivers since that time. But I can honestly say that ATI has had their share of sub par, and in some cases HORRIBLE, driver releases.

It’s Tuesday pass me a Beer

You know those Intel GPU on CPU, kinda disappoint they do nothing to accelerate gaming with a discrete graphics card. Would be kinda cool to have GPU like thing on CPU to accelerate the games with a discrete graphics card.
