Compiling xmms? or a plugin for it? I love when I get to compile (every day) I get to sit there and look like I actually care, understand, and intelligent, while hundreds of lines scroll by. Just like in the movies

BTW I use gentoo too! I'm in the process of converting my desktop over to 100% linux. I've already managed it on my laptop which was a MAJOR feat.

Widget style: Light style, 3rd revision (bundled with kde-3.1 (is it kdeartwork or kdelibs... dunno));
Window manager theme: Quartz (bundled with kde-3.1);
It looks clean indeed

uggghhh i just can't stand bitchX for IRC... when i get my linux back up and running (pcmcia wireless woes...) I run mIRC (sysreset) with wine... no copying of windows dll's needed...
mIRC has no problem connectint to as many irc servers as you want it to.... and sysreset will automate all of it... www.sysreset.com
so not M$ involved... if you're ok with running an windows app... nothing beats mIRC so far... linux definitely needs someone to code an amazing irc client....barton 3000+, 8rda, 512 2700 samsung, evga6800GT, GTXP and delta66, 80gb wdse
