Go to my computer, right click on your harddrive, then properties. It's under utilities.![]()
i also like to use the dos scandisk off a startup disk as well..
thanks guys, i used the one tawcan mentioned but whats the advantage of the dos one?
this one was kinda slow, took like 10 minutes for a 6 gig partition

now diskkeeper will analize my win xp partition but doesnt give the option to defrag it?
does this trial version only allow one disk to be defragged?
does it need a certain amt of free space to work? cuz there is only 23 % free space? and it worked on my win 2k partition with 29 % free space
edit; ok got it working , for some reason i had to check for a usable option in the file menu as the on screen defrag button would not work

only problem i've ever had with diskeeper was likely your experience where it is finding errors in file size and stuff and it won't defrag until that is fixed..but when i ran scandisk and made sure it as enabled to fix all errors, it worked fine after that?
i don't know if there is any advantage to running dos version..it's just what i grew up using and at one point was told by our IT guy it is more thorough than the windoze version.
