? on connecting Hard drive, cdrom, and cd-rw

    Hi,
Will be building my second system for a buddy and need to get a quick reminder on how to properly connect the cables of each piece of hardware above to the mobo (ex.. IDE0, IDE1, master, slave.. all that stuff). Just have one hard drive, a cdrom, and a cd-rw.

    Thanks

It's mostly a matter of preference.
The hard drive will definitely be master on IDE0
after that it's up to debate based on how you usde the system, if you will be burning a lot of CD to CD copies, I would put the CD as a slave on IDE0 and the CDRW as a master on IDE1. However you will get better hard drive performance if you put both CD's on IDE1 in which case I would set the CDRW to master and the CD to slave.
