I have two AMD S939 boards.

    1. Soltek K8T939-Pro
    - currently under RMA back to Soltek, wouldn't POST (at the time it was running the BETA BIOS for the temperature issue fix, provided by a Soltek rep), although it ran fine with that BIOS for quite a few weeks and burn-in tests.

    2. Epox 9NDA3+
    - being without a computer is impossible, so I picked this one up and have no complaints other than the layout of the ATX power connector (right beside the CPU bracket.. ugh). I've managed to get my Winchester 3000 up to 228x9 (5x HTT) with OCZ Plat EB PC3200 (4x256 @ 2.5-3-2-8-2T)

    PCChips M848ALU V2.1 aka ECS 748, L7S7A2...similar PCB's...less hardware monitoring.

Re: What Mainboard do you have?

Well that all depends on what I have as I normally have two motherboards, And neither maker is on the List One is MSI and is supported elsewhere so no big and the Other is known as Supermicro which currently is on It's way to the maker for repair or replacement as It has a dead 2nd bios chip and would not accept It and yet appeared to turn on fine, Even If nothing happened beyond the fans spining, dvd and hdd spinning and two leds turning on and saying all was ok when It wasn't and that is weird. The power led would not turn on(Linked to Bios maybe?) and the Keyboard and Monitor had no signal either,.

Previous Bios chip would do more, It just wouldn't boot from CD or FDD, It would attempt to boot from the HDD of course, But would BSOD as It still has Via motherboard drivers on the HDD and the Supermicro is an Nforce Pro(2200/2050 chips). But at least I could go into the Bios set things, save them or reset them then and the Keyboard, Power LED and the Monitor showed the motherboard was working.

Killeroy, it looks like there's no place for me to vote. I've had good success with Chaintech, Shuttle and MicroStar boards as well as an occasional Asus. After the great Soyo rebate ripoff, I avoid them like the plague.

It's too bad about shuttle, I heard they retreated to sff pcs. But in any case I have an MSI and It works, Actually I've had two and they worked fine. Asus well I've only owned one and that was a long time ago and I've had good luck with DFI and their nf2 motherboards.

    Zoom314,
It is a shame that Shuttle elected to discontinue their mainboard production in favor of the barebones mini's. My AN35N Ultra runs 24/7 without a glitch. The only trouble that I've ever experienced that amounted to anything with the MicroStars I've used was a rash of swelled and leaking capacitors. That's a problem that's supposedly been resolved, and MSI certainly isn't the only manufacturer to be stung by the bad caps bug.

Yeah I read about that, But at least I've not had that happen to Me. Some makers are using only Japanese caps now, Which will in turn raise the motherboard cost, But for a really great motherboard with an excellent chipset It would be worth It. I think the DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert would be worth It and It has a whole thread on It over at XtremeSystems that is devoted to It, It's a pretty interesting motherboard to Me.

I'm waiting on a 265 cpu for My Supermicro H8DCE motherboard, It'll soon be going a lot faster than 1.8GHz too, Clockgen for the Nforce4 plus a few small settings in the bios(such as they are) and this thing will move at 2.4GHz or very close(One guy in Russia has His running at 2.4GHz). Now I just have to hope that the video card that I have and the psu are both up to the task.

I've heard some good things about the eVGA motherboards. Did you happen to pick yours up bindles with a video card or CPU from NCIX blkskull. They had a bunle on sale a couple of weeks ago and I almost grabbed one. Have since read a couple of reviews that give it the thumbs up. Let us know how you make out with it.

Re: What Mainboard do you have?

I'm bushed, I've done quite a bit today, got the mail and a box for mailing, got the oil changed and the automatic trans worked on($128.00 @ Lube Express), Bought a Pizza Hut pizza for dinner, Replaced 4 tires for about $225.00 at (yep) @ Walmart, Bought computer parts at Newegg and ewiz(see below):

    ewiz
    ram: 1-SuperTalent 1Gb Reg/ECC PC3200 Dimm "D32RB1GW" ram(Qty=1,Price=$119.34-paid).

    Newegg
    psu: 2-Silverstone SST-ST56F psu[38A max and 45A peak](Qty=2,Price=$227.98-paid),
    vga: Leadtek 7800GTX TDHVIVOE pci-e with 2565Mb ram(Qty=1,Price=$529.00-paid),
    hdd: 250Gb sata 7200rpm hdd drive(Qty=1,Price=$104.50-paid),
    MB: Asus K8N-DL [Refurb](Qty=1,Price=$175.60-paid).

    ebay
    hsf: zalman 9500LED hsf(Qty=1,Price=$80.99-paid),
    OS: Windows 2000 OS CD(Qty=1,Price=$80.00?),
    cpu: 270 cpu(Qty=1,Price=$650.00+$20.00shipping-paid)

    elsewhere locally
    Car wheel alignment $150.00?
Queen size mattress and frame only(firm) $350.00?

Some parts are for Joker1(VGA, cpu, hdd) and 1 part is for Joker2(1-psu), The rest are for Joker3 which will use some used parts from Joker1(vga, hdd, cpu).

Not bad for a $3000.00 budget.
    Impressed?
